There is much truth in what you say, Sherpa

You just want to say, "C'mon, guys!" (No gender implied.)

You can tell your own story all you want.
You can state your thoughts and opinions all you want.
You can reply to someone else's post with respect.
You can be angry/ funny/ the whole range. (I think swearing was out from early on.)

But telling someone else how or what to think, you cannot.
Allowing everyone to think the way they want except in this ONE area where you think they should think like you do is out.

Can we return to the former days of spurring each other on to THINK for ourselves at our own rate?
I thought we were not interested in GROUP THINK.

Return to kindness/ compassion/ love and concern/ encouragement/ clear thinking/ a welcoming attitude.............please.

First, let me say that I swear in my daily life something terrible. I have actually gone to extreme lengths to not say anything here. Got to let you know that I will swear from time to time. You are asking me not to do it. Okay I have heard you. I will still swear from time to time.

I think what Sherpa said is being misrepresented. I found some amazing things in what he said. I found that he had strength and was using some good communication skills. If you think I am out of my mind ask Sherpa to see what I saw and heard him say. To me this was far less of an attack than it was a chance to improve on what he was saying. Sherpa wil tell you I have given him grief, but this time it was more a matter of improvement of form than it was about message.

You may have missed it very early on--but someone asked for a thread just for swearing.
The idea was nixed.
So I had to bring it up again----just for fun.
Do your thing. But probably restraint is good.

@Sherpa: My limited, human understanding of what a dude named Jesus said about himself and what he was all about -

People live, work, play, eat, drink, even lead within a system. Jesus said he loved the people. Jesus also said he hated the system and was all about destroying it. I think a lot of us are a bit focussed on the system right now.

Gotta say, though, your love for the people in the system is coming through loud and clear. To me, anyway.

I remember a time when, as a care-free child, I ran through the hills of Durham with my friends. Those were the days when we were free. (I'm sure Durham had its own issues, but I was much to young to be aware of them).

I want to see paradigm-shifting and real change.
I want to see that which caused such deep pain die a very painful and public death.
I want to be free.

I want my cake, I want to eat it, and I don't want to gain a single ounce in the process.
