I think it would be FAR better for NTM to send out more frequent communications saying whatever they CAN say, even if it's just a "right now we're stalled because Joe Shmoe did not return our email"... than to NOT communicate or to communicate so sporadically. And an "We still care and hurt and want to do what's right" never hurt either.

Thanks for responding Andy. I'm glad NTM at least went against the lawyer recommendations and sent a voice out to the blog. It was a gesture to at least alleviate a small bit of the frustrations of many out here who feel no one is hearing them.
It would be nice to get more updates - its just like at work when your report isn't complete and you stil have to give your boss 'an update', well people out here want something rather than nothing. Whether you get ridiculed our not for what the update says, something is better than nothing.

Andy, why is nothing being posted here? Why does NTM keep promising updates that they don't meet. Its discouraging to raise an inkling of hope with all those on this forum and then let everyone down again by not even coming out to say it has been delayed. Its wrong! NO business would put up with a department that says, Hey boss I'll have that report to you next week, then nothing for 3 weeks, come on! This is just another way for NTM to show how much this is NOT a priority for them. These people at LEAST deserve an update saying the updated details will be slightly delayed. If you aren't afraid to 'push back' then say something! None of us have the inside ability to do so, so I beg of you to kindly do something about this.

Here is the latest update concerning the progress of the next historic abuse investigations:

“Two steps are under way toward independent investigations of past child abuse in New Tribes Mission.

Coordinator Pat Hendrix is reviewing NTM files to determine which investigations to begin with. Investigations will focus on a specific field, location, incident or perpetrator. At the coordinator’s discretion, more than one investigation may be running at any given time.

Also, three people have been asked to serve on a selection and process review panel. This panel will assist Ms. Hendrix in selecting investigators, and will review quarterly reports from her. Like the coordinator, none are members of New Tribes Mission.”
