Invitation to be a part and not apart

This is a thread for those parents and NTM missionaries that want to voice their anguish for those that were hurt and to make themselves available to help someone in their process of healing.

Three weeks ago, my husband and I were shocked to read of the abuse and hurts that happened at our children’s boarding school. There have been tears, surges of guilt and grief to deal with, calls and e-mails to ask forgiveness from our children, and more tears shed when forgiveness was given. We are humbly grateful to our children and to the Lord.

God didn’t let us rest until we wrote a note on the forum, but it was difficult to know where to place it. So, we jumped into the middle of an existing thread. We wanted the hurting mks to know that there was one less set of silent parents.

There must be many missionaries and/or parents praying and grieving. There must be many of you that are being active with letters, calls, praying and fasting. Encourage the mks by telling them so. It is easy to register on this forum and to add a note to this thread.

It might put you into contact with someone that you can help one-on-one through writing private messages and by praying specifically. We’re thankful that is worked that way for us, because this person encourages us also and we are no longer just a silent spectator of this forum.

WOW! A man who really knows his own journey. My spouse and I have been through some years of counseling but your life story are what it is all about.

I would rather know you than all the sanctimonious Christians who live a fake and plastic life. There is something so inviting to know the God who redeems. Your life has marks of Christ all over it. What a dad. Authentic, receiver of Grace. Thank you!

D&0---you have changed so much during the time you have been posting.
Thanks for sharing the blessings the Lord has given you as you let go of your own purposes. That is so encouraging to read. I think we all as parents can look back and realize our mistakes and see how we would now make some different choices. But we have found our kids to be very forgiving.

Please change your name to something like: NOT down and out--or whatever you think is better. How about Rescued? How about Overcomer? Not that we all are wonderful in every phase of life everyday. But God has taken you over some huge hurdles.
You remind me of "By my God I can jump over a wall" in Psalms, but I can't find it right now.

NIV says "scale a wall..."

But 'leap' is SUCH a better word!

Thanks again for sharing such a personal testimony. I know MANY of us are so encouraged by the leaps and bounds you have made in the Lord's strength.
