who knows if it will do anything, but this is in answer to direct questions he asked me in his last email, which again, i will not publish b/c i don't have his permission. but you can get the gist of things by reading my responses and hopefully that is considered morally OK for me to post *my* response.
my grammar skills seem to have gone the way with my broken finger.
but, oh well... here it is, and i hope i at least gave another shout-out to some of these issues. if i said something that you find offensive in my email, please do let me know.
larry,
i hope you can see past my crude-broken-pinky-typing, which of course controls capitalization and such. i wanted to respond to a few things you made points about in your response to my email.
first of all, thank you again, for your responses.
next, i want to apologize. as you may already know, i quoted some of your email on the fanda eagles forum, but i did not have your permission to do so. i was remiss in doing so and i ask your forgiveness for that.
i'd like to begin with the question you asked- how can ntm effectively communicate with the mks and their families. ntm already knows which mks and their families has lodged complaints against perpetrated child abuse within the ntm setting. that, of course, is the place to start. i'm sure there is a database somewhere at headquarters that has these people's names and contact information. starting from there and moving outward to newly reported cases or suspicions of new cases should not be too difficult.
honestly, to show these mks and families that you are moving towards transparency, regardless of the costs to ntm, a weekly update at the very least is necessary. by 'update', i mean, something of substance. however, if ntm truly has nothing new to report it would be better and more transparent to just say so, instead of posting meaningless updates on ntm's homepage under the fanda update. that, i know, is one of the biggest offenses being felt right now by the mks.
as an outsider, i will tell you that what i see from ntm is secrecy, updates veiled in language couched in legally safe terms, uncaring towards truly communicating effectively with the mks. i know you or someone at headquarters reads the fanda forum. surely you all can see the anguish- not just from the abuse- but from the continued lack of supportive communication and truthful reaching out in love.
as for my statement that i don't see how ntm can continue its daily operations as usual- my point was that with such rotten sin at the core- and if we are honest, it is at the core or it would not be so pervasive within ntm- it seems a true act of repentance would be ntm 'shutting down' until all of this is taken care of. i meant, how can ntm operate around this rotting elephant. it really can't. change, as you know, has to happen from within ntm and honestly, the way i see it, right now ntm is working from the outside in.
i know there are all types of logistical considerations for 'shutting down' a mission the size of ntm. you know what, though? god can and will take care of that as ntm moves radically beyond secrecy and lip service to true transparency and repentance and grieving and sorrow that show these mks and their families that you all do care and want to honor the Lord, no matter how painful it might end up being for ntm.
i'll finish for now. i hope this makes some sense. i am praying.
