I wouldn't consider Gene's post a rant, but the dialog on this forum does come across rather strong at times.

We do need other points of view, and I, for one, do welcome your input. We may not agree, and we may question that point of view, often in rather combative terms, but I do think that most of us are at least open to hearing what you have to say.

You're not likely to change our minds much, and we don't expect to change yours much, but at least we are all more aware of the different facets of the situation.
