I have done a lot of reading on the way sexual predators prey on innocent victims. I believe the link today is insightful for anyone interested in the devious ways a pedophile operates.

Yes, it is excellent.

Some people don't understand why MKs didn't tell parents or other adults about their abuse.

The "grooming" was coming from all sides. Just yesterday an MK wrote to me, "we didn't think we were supposed to tell anyone". Children's behavior was so controlled from such an early age. It was the perfect set-up for abuse, and we parents were so oblivious to it.

I feel like many of us today are more aware of the devious criminal ploys of pedophiles. However, I believe with internet and social media now that pedophiles are more rampant in all walks of life. We have Scott Kennel as proof with his online porn.

As a nanny I want to be certified in first aid and CPR. Yet I feel that awareness of the criminal predators of children is even more important for me. I no longer want things to go unnoticed by me. I regret my naivete of the abuse going on in ntm.

I agree Raz that our children, our precious MK's were bombarded from an early age to do whatever the adults told them.

I also feel for the parents too. Parents who trustingly placed their children in dorms. I hold no blame on parents who did this and then later believed their child victims when pedophiles were exposed. These parents were abused too. In no way do I think that the parents willingly placed children in a dangerous environment. We were not informed back then. Now we are. I respect parents such as Raz and others who believed their children when the crimes were exposed.

I worry about the countless folks in ntm with children who have read this blog and have no qualms about continuing service with ntm. It is scarey to me.

Heaps read this site, have a look at the meter, it is going flat out, especially when there is developments like Gary Earl and then Scott Ross starting a new company.

But I wouldn't call it courage!!!!! Courage is when you are at the scene of a car wreck and you dive in and start pulling people out, even though you can smell gas and see a little flame. Most people just rubber neck, that's not courage!!!!!!!

Courage is when you face your family and ask them why they are still kissing the backside of NTM. Courage is when you write to a politician and demand action or to a law enforcement agency and tell them what you know. Courage is standing up in your church and waking the complacent up as to where paedophiles are hiding. Courage is reading a good post on here and sending it to others with a note that they read it and do something about it.
Just turning up here for a look is not courage!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree wholeheartedly with Aussie.

Courage is in contradiction to rubberneck curiosity. I never thought of it but yeah a lot of readers on here may simply just be curious.

Courage has been shown by so many on here. Your courage has inspired me.... My twitter account is almost completely devoted to standing up for victims of abuse because of the courage of folks like you to open up , tell your stories, and fight for justice.

THE MOST COURAGEOUS OF ALL are the countless victims.

You know . . .it is Therapy Thursday--I go every other week, and if I don't want to continue to go for the rest of my life, I have to work really hard at this.

So . . .as a child we had boarders that attended Bible college with my father--we loved having them around-- life seemed more fun, my dad more congenial. It was a chaotic atmosphere, as we lived in the city so my parents could get experience with cross-cultural ministry.

One of the boarders was a pedophile who targeted another member of my family. . .he probably lived with us 2 years. Of course we found out later, about it.

I have a lot of happy memories of that time . . .but also vague memories of dark hallways and being fearful at night.

How do you think that this would affect a child? I was age 6-8.
