This was posted today on a Facebook site called Truth Seeking Graduates of Bob Jones:

"This is a critical week for the abuse survivors of Bob Jones University. After intense media attention, the school has agreed to meet with G.R.A.C.E. (Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment) after it terminated its contract just weeks before the final report was due to be published. I am asking every prayer warrior to pray hard this week. The outcome of these meetings could have a huge impact on the way evangelicals deal with child sexual abuse now and into the future.

Please pray for the following items:

1. That God would give supernatural strength and wisdom to Boz Tchividjian and his G.R.A.C.E. team as they meet with Bob Jones University.

2. That the abuse survivors who shared their stories with G.R.A.C.E. and have been crushed by BJU abruptly terminating the investigation will be protected in their hearts and minds from any thoughts of suicide or self-harm. Pray for peace for the anxiety and comfort for the overwhelming pain they feel from being re-victimized.

3. That Bob Jones University would turn away from their arrogance and pride and feel repentant for the horrible things they have done to hurt these victims. Pray for a softening of their hearts and a willingness to confront the crimes that have been committed against children at their school. Pray for a heartfelt desire to put doing right before taking care of their reputation. Pray for those who will meet with G.R.A.C.E. that they will have the courage to take a stand and do what is right."

I think GRACE has too much integrity to back down from their investigation methods or their goal of bringing truth to light and validating the survivors. And I expect Bob Jones University has too much fear to allow this to happen.

This situation is spotlighting the dissonance between truth-seekers and truth-hiders.

Something we ourselves know a good deal about.

NTM, be alerted: the wattage of the spotlight has been turned up even higher.

The BJU debacle does affect you. Whether you want it to or not.

My childhood experience with NTM and beyond is that bullying is a real problem, especially in male NTM culture.

And it will continue to be a problem, unless there is a significant change in culture. To get to the top of NTM, you need connections (i.e good family history) or drive with a good dose of blind loyalty.

Therefore when one gender has it pumped into them that they are superior to another, the end result for some is that they lose compassion and accountability in their outlook. Then the conditions are ripe for abuse to occur.

If NTM takes the info from IHART and does nothing to serve justice, then nothing has changed and the culture that produced Scott Kennell will be brewing more MKs who will have all the right settings to go on to be the next generation of abusers.

If that happens, then the only responsible course of action is to have NTM shut down.

I guess I somehow missed how the GRACE report exposed the victims to publicity.

Bob Jones Uni obviously has much to fear. Full stop.
