Insult to pain
It did not happen

MKs lives ruined
Or in despair
And missionaries
Who do not care

Some say "cult"
It has that smell
Condemning lives
To earthly hell

Was it worth it
To save the lost
When for MKs
Their lives it cost?

The God they served
Was not gentle
Dressed in words
So fundamental

Hell, fire and brimstone
Shame and guilt
Excluded from the heaven
That they had built

If it weren't a cult
It got very near
For there was no love
Just pain and fear

Jesus gave me a chainsaw
He said go for it Aussie
So I looked around the black stump
And I cut down a dead tree

That tree was some of my past
And I burnt it in therapy
Then Jesus said go get another
And I cut down another dead tree

I filled up my big woodbox
I gave firewood to friends galore
Then I went and got really busy
And cut an awful lot more

You see Jesus gave me instructions
Said ya gotta cut firewood yourself
That chainsaw will never help you
If you leave it up on the shelf

So come on sisters, join me
Get your chainsaws and all the gear
Burn the deadwood of the past
And let the world your chainsaw hear

I still can't rhyme,
So I spend my time,

Dear Pastor and Congregation
You sent one from your flock
To spread the word of Jesus
And from darkness souls unlock

You laid hands upon him
Gave him cash to do God's will
Prayed he would not suffer
Any of the Devil's ill

You read the lovely letters
Of natives saved from hell
So you gave even more money
And wished him very well

But he never told you
About the organisation he served
And how far from the truth
It badly lurched and swerved

He never told you that
His own children he sacrificed for the cause
That they were raped and beaten
No you naively just gave applause

And now the reports are leaking out
This was a scandal of massive size
And unwittingly you gave support
To the lies, the lies, the lies

So what now Pastor and Congregation
Do you say "it is not my concern
Let the children of the missionaries
In their own hell badly burn?"

Wash your hands of this quickly
Like a Roman so long ago
And never ask the missionary why
The one you blessed to go

And I like your poetry too. This is one of my favourite threads.

Re the above poem. I sent it to a church that I once attended and that has a large mission programme. I wonder if they will reply, I wonder if they will look at the GRACE report.

Please feel free to send this one to any church/organisation one wishes to, just change the last bit to whatever suits. At the moment we have a big window of opportunity with this arrest. The whole NTM saga is up in the media, the crop has been sowed, the media have watered it and we can harvest it, we just have to get into the field with our whipper snappers, chainsaws, pens, pencils, mouses or whatever one uses. Because nothing happens if we don't take the opportunities that are sent our way.

Oops gotta go, I can hear a mighty big chainsaw roaring. Oh no, the chainsaw is chasing some "crop" in sackcloth and ashes. Oh folks if only you could see this, Aussie, slow down, oh no, no Aussie not that tree, it's protected!!!!!!!!!!!! Aussie . . . .
