Just woken up from another one of my vivid dreams. I used to dream over and over that I was stuck at Numonohi (the NTM base in PNG) and couldn't leave. That reoccuring nightmare has not happened since I managed to confront the "demons" of the past. Now I seem to dream where I am in control and of late I am dreaming more of meeting people from the past and explaining to them my past. I just met someone who I haven't seen for 30 years, although I suspect they look a little older than they appeared in the dream.

I used to wear a sign
"I'm a victim, walk on me"
I got it on the mission field
And I wore it constantly

I didn't know I wore it
Some took the words litterally
So life became full of users
And I wandered never free

I tried so hard to be loved
That I gave all I had
Went to church and pretended
But that just drove me mad

I had a career as a giver
But colleagues joined the fray
For I stood out like as sore thumb
And was such easy prey

There was no family to defend me
For they were led by one who used
Who in his own strange manipulating way
Was the defender of those who abused

There were moments of depression
And the constant question why
The longing to be loved
And the deep internal cry

Then by accident or purpose
I discovered my childhood was a lie
I moved to anger then enlightenment
And I had the reason why

I found my old worn sign
Burnt it and it's dreadful past
And made myself a new one
That I hope will forever last

For now I have a new sign
Says "I'm Bemused, walk with me"
And it suits me much better
Because finally I am free

WOW!

How I wish we really could do this, in person!!

Instead, our bonfire is virtual.

Our signs are emblazoned on the internet. Our avatars are the "faces" seen by countless onlookers.

We are an incredibly gifted, creative group. Carrying an immense load of pain.

A load that has become lighter as we vent, share, support and encourage one another.

This is an amazing gathering of new friends who inspire me every day.

You are all my heroes.

Awww, my eyes are teary. You make a good hero too Raz....:)

But if we will have a bonfire
Of our signs of tragedy
We'll need to cut them into kindling
And that's not done easily

But I know a certain someone
Who has a chainsaw big and bright
I'm sure if we asked nicely
She'd help the fire light

Then there is our Swedish friend
With axe sharp and true
So we'd better send invites internationally
Yes that is what we'll do
