Help me out here guys. Pat Robertson seems to be some big wig Christian and here he is saying that if your man cheats, it's not his fault, because he is a man and thats what men do. Just tart yourself up, forgive him and blame the mistress.
Is this thinking typical or is this just some old dude having a midlife crisis trying to justify something that hey presto, bet we find out something personally revealing shortly?

Thats a totally bizzare thing to say, that a cheating man should be forgiven because it isn't really his fault and he should be acknowledged for all he does for his wife.
There was a well known British entertainer, William Roach, who toured NZ recently and made bizzare comments about being tempted as he defended the crimes of an acting colleague. Lo and behold, he was arrested for his own historic crimes when he got back to the U.K. So your point that perhaps this is a subtle defense for something that might leak out has validity.

There is no excuse for cheating, temptation or not! And there is no excuse for child abuse either.

Pat Robertson is incredibly ignorant. I read about this "marriage advice" last night, and couldn't believe it.

You know who else is ignorant? All the people who are calling Wade Robson a liar because it has taken him this long to grapple with and speak the truth, which is that he was sexually molested for years by Michael Jackson.

So much is known (or SHOULD be known) today about the nature of childhood sexual abuse and how victims often respond .... sometimes many years pass before things clarify for them and they are ready to tell the secrets.

And so much is known (or SHOULD be known) today about why couples cheat on each other. And it has nothing to do with the fact that the spouse who is being cheated on has gained a few pounds or is not a good enough cook or housecleaner. It has everything to do with the cheater ... with what their own issues are.

So much is known. And yet why does it seem there is still so much ignorance? And why do people - in their ignorance - spout off in public about stuff they have no business judging or opining about??

Grrr ....

WOW....such truth! I am thankful you have have this gift to beable to share the truth in a way that those who need to hear it may read it. Good job Bemused. Awesome job!!
