Wow this is a fantastic change of position from when this thread started. From "is it Cult-like" to agreeing that it is an "Evil Empire" and good people should get out.

Even when the question was asked
"Is it cult-like if...?"
I was of the opinion that exiting is the best policy.
And that takes courage.
But "cult-like" is not a safe place to be.

If an animal is large, grey, has a trunk at one end and a tale at the other, one could say it is "Elephant Like". And the reason one would say it is "Elephant Like" is because it is an Elephant.

Now when one looks at NTM and examines all the evidence and says behold it is "Cult Like", the reason it is "Cult Like" is because it is a "Cult".

No, ifs, buts, maybes. To classify it as anything else is to say, "well they mean well, so lets just give them the benefit of the doubt and let them carry on".
The sooner the world wakes up and says, "Child abuse is wrong and on this scale, with this much cover up it is so abhorent, this organisation needs to be shut down immediately and the doors of the jails opened to admit those who were less than innocently caught up in this cult".

We were children caught up in this sadistic organisation, ritually tortured, mentally, physically, sexually and spiritually. We came out with our brains so scrambled, only the brave actually now live a useful life, the rest just exist.

Maybe you had some nice memories of your time in NTM, but for some of us it was hell from day one and it has been a long slow struggle to even lead a half normal life. Maybe you still have nice friends in NTM, but many of us walked out the door as late teens and the door slammed shut and the NTM years were just something we tried to forget. Maybe it's a really a nice organisation with a few bad apples, no it's not! It's a cult that the uses people to scarred to wake up and see the truth as a cover for what is really going on.

I've read your many wise posts, you were abused by leadership. And in the end you wised up and got out. Now imagine you were a kid and you couldn't get out, because your parents were to weak or foolish to see what was going on. Therein lies the difference, there was no exit, because it had the minds of our parents and therefore it had the minds, souls and bodies of us kids.

I rest my case, yes it is "Cult Like", because it is a CULT!

My cry is for justice for all of you---and healing.
What will that take?
The shut-down so the funds can be used for you.

But I can't say "cult."
And I don't know why.
It's not for the reasons you mentioned.
We have talked all of those over
Multiple times.
And we stand strong
That we will not give up this fight.
So 'to each his own' opinion
And thoughts for now.

I think you have presented your reasoning incredibly well and I find myself nodding too. Thank you for being so robust in your discussion of the subject. No doubt it makes some squirm, but what is a bit of squirming discomfort, compared to what many went through and if a little discomfort brings some to think, "what am I doing here?", then a that is a considerable achievement.

Aussies are good at bush whacking and going in where others fear to tread. They have snakes the size of which are unbelievable and that can probably only be killed by a chainsaw.

Let's help our Northern Hemisphere friends understand a bit of Australasian culture. For a Kiwi to say "The world needs more Aussies" is about as rare as a Canadian saying, "The world needs more Americans".
You see Kiwiland lives in the shadow of Big Australia (sound familiar any Canadains reading this?). Everything we do, Australia has to do better and then tell us all about it. Imagine how annoying that gets. Australians love to tell us that everything is bigger and better in Australia and we like to remind them that they have flies, crocs, flies, snakes, flies and did I mention flies?

But if anyone from outside Australasia upsets either one of us, then the other is not far behind ready to defend tooth and nail (sounds like any normal family, except Austalians aren't normal , just joking).

So why would a Kiwi say the world needs more Aussies? Well have you seen the size of that chainsaw? Be afraid, be very afraid, or just be nice. No, no seriously, Aussie makes a good passionate defence of her views and that Bemused thinks is very admirable.

Keep coming back to the fact that I am so INTERnational, MULTIcultural, MULTIlingual etc that I do NOT know what I am sometimes.
