We were also members at the time the GRACE Report came out.
We read it on the Member site----never on the public site.
And, of course, on fandaeagles
Since it was released to both at the same time.
The "leader" we had on the field refused to read it.
We never heard anything from NTM about it.
They informed their trainees about it and had a Q and A session
with some very smooth operators doing the answering.
What slant did they give it?
Some missionaries we knew told us later that NTM was dropping GRACE
because they were unprofessional and did not do the investigation right in some areas.
Sound familiar?

I haven't been on the NTM web site in a long time but went there and there is an article titles "Leadership Needed" http://usa.ntm.org/mission-news/56916/leadership-needed.

I have commented before a when the Fanda site first came up and got told to shut up, and all my comments removed. How can they expect to teach leadership for a thriving growing church when they don't know how themselves. All they know is little dictatorships that answer to a higher dictator. What is different than the Catholic Church. Only difference is they don't elect their pope in ceremonies for the whole world to see. There is no change.

Yes NTM needs leadership but there is no hope.

If I am a Catholic, my sin can be absolved if I confess it to a priest. I then am required to perform an act to demonstrate remorse.

If I am a Protestant Missionary, those I offend against are expected to absolve me of my crime and I don't even have to confess it. It will go under the carpet and perhaps in a few decades, there might be an investigation, which might makes some recommendations, which might be adhered to. Not that it matters as I will have long moved on and probably committed more sin along the way.

If Crossview Australia knew about the GRACE report, they made no effort to contact Kiwi MKs, like they made no effort to contact Kiwi families when one of their members was jailed, even those who lived next door and/or shared a house with the person concerned.

A report such as this is a major catastrophe, not something that happened as an isolated incident to, all members and ex members should have been informed.

Did Crossview Australia know? Have no idea and there is little chance of finding out (they don't reply to e-mails). But they did have 3 MKs I know of who were on Senegal at one stage living on their base.

I agree, there should have been a concerted effort to inform every single person associated with NTM globally, in particular those who might have been involved, however remote the possibility. And you are right, this was a major catastrophe that was minimized repeatedly over decades.

Yes, it's hard to admit mistakes and come clean up front, but it's the right thing to do. Oftentimes, honesty and transparency come at a cost, but it is worth it in the long run. Not just for the integrity of the organization, but for the opportunity to be a testimony and positive witness in a very dark world.

It sounds more like a secret society than an organisation who are supposed to be preaching the gospel of a loving and caring God.
Just who was controlling the minds of ordinary people so much that it seemed prudent to not ask questions like, who else is involved, what is the state of other fields, how are the MKs affected coping. Instead the priority seems to be more, can we keep this under wraps so that the money flow is not interrupted.
And so to the next generation of mind controlled, the MKs who are so loyal to their friends and family with associations to NTM, that they won't lift a finger to help another MK when asked. Shame, shame, shame.
But watch who gets to the front of the line up if compensation is paid, not those who have diligently sought to assist others, right the wrongs of the past, seek justice and make sure the next generations are never exposed to this. No, no, no, Bemused predicts that those that sit on the fence will suddenly find it in their best interests to declare their changed loyalty and even maybe discover their own hard luck story.

Yes, it is something like a secret society, the sense is that those on the outside "just don't understand" and thus one can justify certain things that might not quite be on the up and up.

NTM as a whole has control issues and many members end up with a need to be controlled and things are fine as long as the member doesn't decide to step out of line. Then they will find, as many have, that they are no longer 'loved'. I read once that there are some people who will never respect you as long as they can control you. So in order for them to respect you, you have to remove yourself from their control. But once this happens and they can no longer control you, then they have to get rid of you because they cannot tolerate anyone whom they cannot control. It's a losing situation.

And you are right, it's a sad, sorry situation when good people can be led to act in very uncaring ways towards a fellow human being, especially one who has been hurt. That is diabolical.
