I love the train poem, Bemused. I can almost feel the lurching of the train, chugging along through the dark night ...

:)

(Not sure why I am also getting visions of train footage from concentration camp movies ... yikes. :? )

Thats interesting. I think with poetry written with various references it will conjure up different images for different people.

I had the vision of the Tangiwai railway disaster, where in the 50s a passenger train sped across a bridge that had been washed away by flashflood caused by a volcanic lake rupturing (worth a google if one has a moment). It happened at night on Christmas Eve, with large loss of life. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tangiwai_disaster

The beauty of the individual mind, we don't think the same and can see things in different lights.

Yes Raz those were excellent questions that another mk took the time to write out for us and believe me that wasn't the discussions ABWE had with my husband. In saying they were secular makes me think about our time with ABWE as they adapted many ideas and so forth from the secular world. One I can think of is "mission statements" as from what I remember a secular organisation started that principle. When Russ Ebersole would come to be our "boss" he used what I can remember as "secular techniques." These so called Christian organisations don't mind using the secular if it can be to their advantage I reckon. I am sure we would be considered bitter as we recall these experiences but we have never looked back and have absolutely no regrets leaving that organisation. One think I can say about my husband if he believes something is wrong he will abandon it no matter the cost. Full stop.

Wow, Shary. I think you got those all correct. Every one of them has a very familiar feel. (And that feel is a great heaviness.)

Imagine what God thinks of being the "fall guy" and the boss of these organizations .... while the leaders do as they please and are often influenced by their own flesh, pride, greed and selfishness.

Sad, sad, sad.

:(

We have a programme that screens here called "Undercover Boss", where a boss goes undercover into their own workforce.
Imagine God going to work as a missionary, or would He even get through the training programme?

Sorry Mr God, you don't meet our criteria for entry, this habit of helping prostitutes, the poor, the disposesed, really what are you thinking! You need to concentrate on the lost!

And Jesus came
And Jesus said
"I said to go
Yet you laze in bed!"

"Layers and layers
Of beuracracy
Wasting time
Not hearing Me"

"Splitting hairs
Wasting time
Defending evil
And those in crime"

"Hiring lawyers
Wasting cash
Printing nonsense
And speaking trash"

"Speaking love
With forked tongue
Living in mansions
Not amongst the dung"

"Getting rid
Of those who disagree
Those who dare
To serve differently"

"Looking down
On servants of different bent
Claiming they are not
Heaven sent"

"Investment funds
And hidden cash
Ill gotten gains
To on selves splash"

"Then the wounded
Dismissed as bitter
Swept under carpet
Like dust and litter"

"And lovely homes
For the retired
I am God the boss
This mission is fired"

"What could your immediate supervisor do to improve his or her management style?
Based on your experience with us, what do you think it takes to succeed at this company?
Did any company policies or procedures (or any other obstacles) make your job more difficult?"

HA!
