When I do something against a person I must confess the wrong I did. I must make restitution, pay for what I cost the other person. Live a life that shows my sorrow for what I have done. Accept that it is I who ruined the relationship. I must live with the guilt and depending on what I did the legal consequences. I do not ask for forgiveness from the person I wronged. If I do I am trying to gain control of the person I wronged by making them do something to make me feel better. It makes them feel re victimized. This is what NTM does over and over to their MKs. Many Christians put emphasis on forgiveness as the answer to all wrongs. Justice is the answer to wrongs. We have seen no justice for the NTM MKs.

Obviously no one has the directive (probably the wrong word) to MAKE anyone else forgive them.
If someone is falsely repenting because they were caught, forgiveness is not to be given. We can't see someone else's heart. But forgiveness is for the abused to GIVE---if led to do that. (Not by men.)
Forgiveness is absolutely something to be GIVEN and it is not the abuser who decides about that.
When crimes are committed, consequences are to be paid for. Forgiveness has nothing to do with it.
People have been seriously re-victimized and manipulated and controlled by this forgiveness thing when men take it into their hands.
Forgiveness comes from the heart and belongs only to the heart that gives it.
Until that person decides to give it away.
It cannot be mandated.
The people who use the concept wrongly should shut up after their confession.
I don't know if I could make a blanket statement about it in all cases.
I need to look for the answer more.
In this case of child sexual abuse and in the case of wrongful manipulation and control---yes.
