NTM is paying the investigative company??? I have been told I will receive a copy of the findings.. in full. If I have been mislead or misinformed please let me know.

I will release the report myself if I have it hand when complete. As a victim of a crime I have a right to the report per the Freedom of Information Act!

Being very brave....changed my Avatar to a picture of me at 10 yrs old in Panama. I wasn't 41 when it happened to me. I was an innocent girl of 10!

I will more than gladly publish the report when it is in my hands... I will be sure to send it to many many people and make a large amount of noise... and it will not be 'joyful celebration' until NTM fesses up and does the RIGHT thing.

mosquito bite, I imagine you are right about the Panama report not getting released. ABWE will not release the results of the Showers Simms LLP investigation and I believe that is why they didn't use GRACE for it. GRACE will release their report on Dr. Donn William Ketcham, missionary pedophile from Bangladesh and ABWE knows this. Funny thing GRACE is investigating one man, starting before the Simms Showers LLP investigation which investigated many fields from 1950 and they completed it in 9 months and GRACE is still diligently working on theirs. I reckon this speaks volumes. By the way my husband's name has not been cleared as yet from the Simms Showers LLP investigation, like I have said over and over since they won't name the guilty he thinks they should name the innocent that are either dead, resigned, retired or terminated. Full stop.

This will be a perpetual problem for all missions with a past of child abuse. The mud isn't just flying, it is sticking and it will stick to anyone in a tainted mission organisation who is still associated with it, or who has left and not made it clear that they wanted no part of an organisation that has a tainted past.

Joe and Jane public are not going to distinguish between good and bad missionaries. It will be guilt by association, in other words if the group you belong to has a proven record of child abuse and has not cleaned up their act or dealt with the past, then the average citizen will assume guilt till proven innocent. Of course this isn't fair, because good people will end up paying the price for criminals deeds. But lets be blunt, it isn't fair that MKs were abused and it was covered up for so long. MKs had no choice, adult missionaries could have got out long ago, or made so much noise that there was no doubt about their innocense.

The mission boards by not releasing reports and the names of offenders will tar good people and good people will be hurt, but then I was a good innocent MK as were many others and look what happened to us . . .

Bemused, Exactly and since they said the 9 guilty are either dead, retired, resigned or terminated that places my husband in that category since when he tried to resign in 1993 they terminated him instead for insubordination. In reality we were both terminated. All my husband wants is for them to make it public that he is not one of the 9 they found guilty of abuse that are either dead, retired, resigned or terminated. I don't think that is too much to ask since they won't name the guilty. Full stop.

That's not a fair situation to be put in for either of you. Could you consider what in military terms would be called a pre emptive strike? i.e. draft a letter to say one of the Christian media outlets protesting the unfairness of the situation and how your innocesense is being sullied by the crimes of others that are being protected. Give you mission board a copy and suggest they have say 2 weeks to get the issue sorted, or you hit the send button.

Drastic I know, but the other side is not playing fair.
I'm sure others will be able to offer solutions too, so any other bright ideas?
