I understand that there is a great deal of anger and bitterness about so many facets of the abuse and subsequent tragic mishandlings of the fallout. But to me it seems as if people on this site are actually hoping for these investigations to fail. Self perpetuating cynicism is arguably a problem very evidently displayed on this forum. In the state where I live, we typically call police and/or other law enforcement agencies to investigate crimes.
We typically don't depend on the alleged criminal's employer to hire investigators, nor do we typically depend on the employer of those who might have covered up the crime to investigate crimes. Things are just weird that way here in the boondocks.

The IHART investigations might solve everything from sexual child abuse to bad breath to cancer. Having said that, history has taught me that police investigate crimes. As for voting and complaining, I am an American citizen: I can vote, not vote and/or do whatever the heck I want to on election day....and complain a lot. That's what happens in free societies. Now in cults, we're always manipulated into doing and saying the right thing, so long as the "right thing" preserves the cult.

Then in the interview. This appropriate team then decides if the report is "Affirm or disallow allegation*"

Now in looking at this what child or teen will be able to stand up against NTM. Where are they going to get witnesses, (Do they know most molesters abuse in secret)

By the time they inform any authority of the abuse all evidence is gone. They have tampered with the evidence in interviewing and questioning the child to make sure they are telling the truth. In US even pastors are told not to question the victim but call the police.

They will find very few cases that will stand up in such a biased environment so the mission will still "look good" They investigated and found nothing. No where is a third party asked to help in the investigation.

What do you think I think they spent a lot of time and money to protect themselves then called it the Child Protection Manual .

It's called getting the paperwork in order, so that if anyone asks "have you taken steps so this will never happen again", the hand can go on the heart and say "yes and here is our policy". The question is not, what is your policy now, but has the culture changed so this never occurs again.

But where is the most basic first step? When there is an accusation of abuse, remove the victim from the abuser first and foremost, then if it is a sexual matter, it becomes a criminal case that must be dealt with under the jurisdiction of where the offense took place.

In the cases I know of as a child, the investigation consisted of asking the offender "did you do it?" of course anyone with half a brain know what the answer will be! So then it was support the dear offender for they are under attack from someone who is "out of fellowship" or has a "bitter spirit".
This sort of pathetic behaviour, was nothing short of criminal negligence covering up criminal offences. And the only logical reason it could of been allowed to occur was because we were in a group operating with all the hallmarks of a cult!

I too was alone and very few stood up for me too. But at least I can look back and say now, "I stuck my neck out then and said there was something wrong in Utopia and now I know I was right all along".
We were kids, this should never have happened.

Andy, The address and phone number of the police station closest to every place a triber works in the world should be in your child protection manual. That address and phone number should be posted at every building at the boarding schools.
Boarding school kids should have instant and unfettered access to multiple communication devices. They should be able to call, skype, message any law enforcement official in their home country, the country they are in, and any of their MK friends the world over. They should be able to talk to their parents 24 hours a day, 365 million days for life, whether the ghost of Bacon Hare and his urgent ministry like it or not.
Women tribers should have similar information and tools in case their husbands/boyfriends/random idiots make them feel the slightest bit uncomfortable.
