For a group so well-trained in Matthew 18, so well-trained to work as a group that "ministers" in each other's lives, you people have to be the slowest, most stubborn group of hypocrites when abject evil is detected in your midst, from the top of your chain-of-command on down.

Why couldn't you guys be more like Penn State? Maybe you could re-open Jersey Shore as a boot camp and take field trips to Happy Valley to learn a thing or two. It's only like 40 miles away.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Veteran Penn State football coach Joe Paterno began talks that resulted in a sweetened retirement contract in the same month that he testified before a grand jury in the Jerry Sandusky sex-abuse case, and all members of the board of trustees weren’t informed of the new package before the scandal engulfed the university, according to a published report.

Paterno and the university reached agreement on the amended contract that eventually totaled $5.5 million in August, months before charges were filed against Sandusky, but they began negotiating in January, The New York Times reported Saturday.


The amended contract, which was reported on by The Associated Press in April, included a $3 million career bonus if Paterno retired at the end of the 2011 season, as well as well as forgiveness of $250,000 in outstanding indebtedness and an additional $100,000 in loans.

The package also included access to a stadium box for his family for 25 years as well as parking privileges and access to on-campus hydrotherapy equipment for his wife.

it's not too hard to convince people to be quiet about sexual child abuse when you also control, at least in part, their livelihood

if on one hand anonymous MK's post online reports of sexual child abuse, and on the other field committee members or fellow missionaries dismiss the reports because the MK's "aren't walking with the Lord", and to stand up for MK's might interfere with a father and/or mother's ability to feed themselves and their kids (what kind of jobs in Happy Valley are hiring veteran missionaries with 20 years of translating obscure languages), I'm guessing 99.9 percent will stay quiet

And that's just what they did.
End of story.

But the beginning wasn't 'Once upon a time.'
It really happened.

And hopefully that is not the end of the story either.
