"Second, we reject as contrary to Scripture and plain reason the suggestion we have received from some that no action is necessary, that true forgiveness requires silence and feigned forgetfulness."

Did you hear the joke about how two local sponsoring authorities go into a bar?

You know, tribers, I know you must feel all modern and professional, with $100,000 suggested support levels, technology, Kodiaks, the five-star resort in Roach, Misery, but........

The "local sponsoring authority" crap is where the veneer wears thin.

You're still playing around.
You still don't think you need to submit to local law enforcement authorities.
You still have a way around the law.
You still look down on people from other cultures, countries, etc.

And as long as you're going to be that arrogant, there's really little to talk about.

Drip, drip

New Tribes Mission’s training equips men and women to plant churches among unreached people groups. Many candidates need financial assistance. The Missouri Baptist Foundation has offered a matching-funds scholarship program. Through 2012 they will match $.50 on the dollar. Your gift will help equip missionaries to achieve their goal of reaching tribal people with the Gospel.

WHO IS MISSOURI BAPTIST FOUNDATION?
The mission of the Missouri Baptist Foundation (MBF) is to strengthen the mission and ministry efforts of Missouri Baptists.

MBF was established in 1946 with three accounts valued at $80,000 and today administers nearly1,000 accounts with more than $135 million under management. Annually, MBF distributes nearly $7 million to churches and Christian ministries in Missouri, the United States, and the world. It provides estate and gift planning services to individuals seeking to provide for themselves, their families, and Christian ministries.

MBF is governed by a twelve member Board of Trustees. It is operated by staff at its headquarters in Jefferson City and regional offices in Eastern and Western Missouri. MBF is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Greetings,

I found the following at ntm.org:

"New Tribes Mission’s training equips men and women to plant churches
among unreached people groups. Many candidates need financial
assistance. The Missouri Baptist Foundation has offered a
matching-funds scholarship program. Through 2012 they will match $.50
on the dollar. Your gift will help equip missionaries to achieve their
goal of reaching tribal people with the Gospel."

I found the following at fandaeagles.com:

1) The parents called Executive Committee member Mel Wyma to report
the sexual abuse but were warned not to “destroy another man’s
ministry.” Mel Wyma informed the vicitm’s parents that David Brooks
was important and needed on the field.
GRACE REPORT, PAGE 32

2) Tom Bennet, NTM house counsel at the time, also suggested that one
of these documents should be destroyed (913). This is particularly
concerning in light of the fact that the 12/26/89 memo is nowhere to
be found today. This missing, possibly destroyed document could have
contributed significantly to the GRACE investigation.
GRACE REPORT, PAGE 36

3) In two separate emails to Scott Ross dated in 1997, Richard Rayl
referenced being approached by Dean Van Vliet and Macon Hare to
destroy a potentially incriminating document(899and903). In one note,
Rayl writes, “I am also concerned with the EC's cover up with the
Gates, wanting to destroy documents that would incriminate them. It
sounds a little like Texaco or some other corporation”
Grace Report, page 35

My question for you folks at the Missouri Baptist Foundation is: Will
any of the matching amounts you contribute to New Tribes Mission be
used to purchase equipment (such as a shredder) used for destroying
incriminating documents?

Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Ornery

I received the following private message:

Latest version:
"NTM‐USA will follow U.S. state‐mandated reporting requirements (including Florida and the
state in which the alleged offender resides). NTM‐USA in conjunction with the Field Leadership
Team will work with the local church leadership when reporting in the host country."
===========================================================================

Instead of trying to decide whether the version posted online at ntm.org is the most current or whether it's the language I received via pm from the prime minister of pm's:

Here's a quiz for Missouri Baptists, Sanford Baptist preachers and tribers of all stripes:

Who is NTM going to call when one of their missionaries/agents overseas is accused of sexual child abuse?

a) the police
b) a sponsoring authority (British Airways is one of the sponsors of the 2012 Olympic games, and they're an authority on flying people around the world; McDonalds is also a partner: "Uh, yeah, I'd like a number 1 with extra sauce...and uh, a medium Coke, and some 12-year-old claims....do you have the 50-piece nuggets?")
c) local church leadership ("Brother Jose, did you like the new iPad Brother Biff brought back from the States? Anyways, about this ridiculous allegation of whatever made by this confused child at our boarding school.....yeah, we can download that app for you so it's easier to contribute....let me call Sanford and get them to guide to the right spot to get that app, because it's easier than ever to give to our ministry.")
