Message to Tugboats, Salvage Crews, Scavengers and Sharks,

The NTM - Titanic is listing badly. The radio opertor has kindly consented to relay our message/advice to the Captain. We should know fairly shortly if the message will be acted upon.

Under International Maritime Law, there is a duty of care to assist any vessel that transmits a Mayday call. If a White flag is hoisted firing should cease until a surrender treaty is negotiated. If a Red Cross flag is hoisted, then all those in scrubs will be busy.

If however a false Mayday is deliberately sent, or a White flag is hoisted, as a confidence trick, then the consequences will be dire and tugboats may prepare torpedoes.

Tugboats wishing to attach themselves to the Titanic and pull her under, a word of advice. Get your timing right, when she goes down, she is a big ship and if you are still attached by your rope, buy a very very long snorkel.

Despite being from the land on Sheep, I am at this point in time not a Ewe-Boat. I remain a "Very Gracious" tugboat, but that can always change .

I haven't decided what my tugboat is named yet.

But in this boat we love Beatles music, and are loudly playing "Give Peace a Chance", as we bob up and down in our tiny craft, looking up at the huge ship beside us.

I don't see much activity up there yet. Not very many people at the railing, wondering what we're doing down here.

I think most people are still in the grand dining hall and ball rooms, dancing and sipping grape juice under the sparkling chandeliers.

I don't think they've noticed those things are starting to hang slightly askew.

You don't know what to call your tugboat? Oh let me help. I was going to suggest "Little Toot", but given that you are almost at 1000 posts, perhaps you should celebrate with some lovely Kiwifruit wine and call yourself "Big Toot" .

I've got a selection of songs playing in my wheelhouse. Simon and Garfunkels, "Ship sliding away" is the one playing at the moment.

Let's park up the Tugboats for a moment and stop playing soccer. Let's play Tennis instead.

We've just put the ball into NTM's court. The grandstands are full of supporters from all walks of life, some would love to see NTM sunk (oops back to the nautical theme, sorry). And some are such ardent supporters of NTM, they have a permanent patch over one eye. Most are somewhere between the two ends of the spectrum and quite a few have sore rears from sitting on the fence.
We now wait to see what NTM will do with the ball, meanwhile we position ourselves for what we expect the return to be, based on past returns. If they take the ball and walk off the court, then dear sir, it is back to the nautical theme and torpedos, and of course I will Mia Culpa and bow to your superior knowledge.
Perhaps if you stand at the back of the court, where a front hand smash is most effective and I play at the net to catch those sneaky little shots, we can see how this all pans out.

Now, I was always pretty useless at tennis, so if you don't mind I might go back to talking about the Titanic and Tugboats.
