Great idea, Bemused

A proud and accomplished missionary
Alas became “The Late”
And strolled up confidently
To St. Peter at the Pearly Gate

“I’m ready for eternity”
He said with polished grin
“Look in the book of my life
And then welcome me to come in”

“Ah” exclaimed St. Peter
“Good things you have done indeed
A soul or two saved from damnation
When the call you did heed”

“But you seem to have lost your way
Forgotten why you were sent
And committed awful awful deeds
Of which you did not repent”

“Oh that” replied the missionary
“Just a slip or two
But why let a bit of mischief
Ruin my well deserved celestial view”

“Medal or Millstone” replied St. Peter
“The committee will have to review
Stand aside while they decide
And on your deeds mull and chew”

* * * *

While this was going on
An MK staggered up to the Pearly Gate
A burden on their broken back
And scraps upon their plate

I’ve sinned, they wept
I have lead a life of sin
And Jesus came down personally
And just said, “Come on in”

Hmmm ... you surprise me sometimes, Bemused.

And I've got tears in my eyes.

Because I know that MK.

And I know that Jesus.

Oh yes....definately tears with that one Bemused.

I believe it is only the broken who understand fully what Our Father in Heaven may have felt when he watched as self righteous missionaries abused precious children.

Mix that depth of despair with the righteous anger Jesus showed when he found his fathers house being used as a filthy market place. Now...put the two together and amplify it 100 fold.......1000

Vengeance is mine says the Lord... but neither did that stop Jesus feeling anger, upturning the tables and taking action on his Fathers behalf.

At this point in time we are all upturning a few tables......we can only imagine what Jesus meant when he spoke about it being better if abusers of children had had a "millstone" hung around their necks.......

This I feel is something that these abusers will face with God on the other side......which other side more to the point. Why would Jesus make such a statement and then let it appear that these people can abuse children and move on with life as if it never happened.....because he knows something we don't.......

One day these people die and his Father has the last "word" in the matter.

Sweet.

Looking forward with great anticipation to joining the soccer match.

Raz, what shall we do?

I have to admit I have favorites other than soccer and volleyball---
the NTM favorites.
And they are not even sports!

Actually, while this endless game is going on, I predict that you will find me singing. I want to be standing right next to Jerry Bartlett's sister Jayne. I did so love harmonizing beside her in Bible School. Sweet memories!

Pondering my preferences ... I see that I choose harmony over competition. Even if the game is "friendly".

(And I also prefer giving my mouth a workout, not my body! )
