As a cardiac specialist nurse of 22 years experience I feel I am suitably unqualified to operate on the lovely Raz and mend her broken heart.
Alas I am just a poor nurse from downunder and my access to high tech equipment is sadly lacking. However I am happy to report that the patient has survived my simple administerings and is in a comfortable condition surrounded by her loved ones (and a few crazies, thank you Mr Long for pointing that out).
Have found the patient responds well to a "good laugh" and a tickle of the funny bone, and is probably now dancing to the latest posting of the song mentioned in the "Songs I like rewritten thread". Yes that is her, I'd recognise that blond anywhere http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXewIR7Y7cc

For others: It's not under "Mission News" anymore. It's now a section called "Child Protection", and it's under "About" on the NTM website.

Well, well!

The NTM website has undergone yet another change.

Under "Child Protection" there is now a section called "Historic Abuse Investigations". Again.

I was encouraged by these two paragraphs at the top of this new page:

"New Tribes Mission genuinely regrets the abuse that was inflicted by certain members on missionary children in past decades. The Executive Board is committed to walk in integrity as we look to the Lord for wisdom and seek counsel on how best to do the right thing despite the ramifications this may have on New Tribes Mission. Believing that we stand accountable to our members and their children, to our ministry partners, to the laws of the countries in which we minister and ultimately to God, we are committed to address these issues in a comprehensive manner by seeking the truth and dealing appropriately with any abuse that may be exposed in the course of investigations by IHART.

Please continue to pray for healing of the families involved and for wisdom and courage for the Executive Board."
