Investigative Team Training
August 28-31, 2012
Colorado Springs, CO
This will be the only ITT offered State-side this year.
Space is limited to 24.
The Child Safety Investigative Team Training (ITT) is geared for Missions Organizations and International Christian Schools who have been approved as Associate Members of the Child Safety & Protection Network, completed or are in the process of drafting their child safety policies, and wish to train a team within their organization in the area of organizational response to child abuse reports regarding staff or children within their organization.
To attend the ITT training, several prerequisites/requirements must be met:
you personally have attended a CS&PN orientation session
your agency/organization is an Associate Member of the CS&PN
you can and will attend every ITT session beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28 through lunch on Friday, August 31
Associate Members are asked to send a minimum of 2 or 3 team members (unless others from the organization have already attended one of the trainings) who have been specifically tasked with conducting internal investigations for their organization.
Prior to attendance at the Investigative Team Training, agencies are asked to commit to the following:
identify investigative team members who fit the criteria (sample listed in BPS p. 36)
review together your agency response policies and procedures so that the investigative team training will build well on them. It will be particularly important to:
cover the child abuse reporting form, (a sample listed in BPS pp. 33-35)
the possible outcomes of an investigation, (a sample listed in BPS p. 27)
the policy regarding administrative outcomes, (a sample listed in BPS p. 28)
and investigative interview forms your agency utilizes.
bring your agency's child safety policies and procedures with you to the training (regardless of where in the process they may be, even if it's in draft form).
If your agency fits this criteria, we would like to invite you to the Child Safety Investigative Team Training -- August 28-31, 2012.
This workshop is staffed by child safety and protection network team members. The training is hosted at The Hideaway in Colorado Springs, CO.
If you personally have not attended a CS&PN orientation, you will need to attend orientation as it provides the foundation for the training that follows. Orientation is Tuesday, August 28 at 8:00 a.m.
Orientation seeks to provide a common foundation regarding the reality of abuse in mission settings, how abuse occurs, and a basis for both prevention and response and to provide information regarding the goals and progress that has been made to date on the Child Safety & Protection Network.
This event is limited to 24 participants.
