No way, Blond. There was one price for NTM MKs, other MKs, and a higher rate for non-MKs. However, I believe this to be a standard procedure for most MK schools, not just Tambo. By the way, the difference was significant.

Blond, are you kidding....how on earth did NTM justify charging $6000 US dollars a year??!!!

I wasn't at Tambo but know that the cost of covering expenses outside of the US in places like Brazil/PNG is a fraction of the cost you would expect to pay at home. Think you could safely say that you are probably entitled to 1st choice of some of property and assets NTM has collected over the years......SINCE YOU PAID FOR THEM. How many years were you paying $6000 US dollars a year at Tambo....and what decade was this?

Wonder how many other non-MK families were getting robbed each year while their children were being abused by "missionaries"? THIS JUST NEVER STOPS.....THE MORE WE DIG THE BIGGER THE MESS!!

Thank you Blond for enlightening us of yet another NTM business tactics.....so they weren't just stealing peoples homes. I'm now wondering how much support money was being skimmed off the top of different families monthly incomes from their home churches by NTM. NTM have done everything else so this would be keeping with their moral compass....or lack of it.

I don't know how much my folks paid for us to stay at Via. I think it was pretty nominal. Dad said it was cheaper then keeping us at home.

There was a three tier scale for school fees at Numonohi. The first being for NTM MKs, which was minimal. The second for MKs of other missions and the third for kids of non mission related people. I don't think the fees were excessive from my vague memory, especially when the alternative was to fly kids down to Australia for a decent education. I did correspondence for my last two years, but that is a different matter.

FYI - From 1970 to 1975, our average total monthly income was $ 240 per month. We had two children at Tambo for four of those years. Never heard of anybody paying anywhere near $6,000 / yr., even those not belonging to NTM. Yes, there was a tier system, because NTMers had to cover costs that outsiders didn't have, and that helped to distribute the expenses.

There was always an attempt to keep prices at a minimum, nobody got ripped off.
