Great post, Arara Azul.

Leaving NTM after almost 50 years -- first as an MK, then a career missionary -- was so painful for me. But a decade later I see our departure from such a different perspective.

But we're not one of the "plaque-bearers". (No, Larry, I'm not hinting!)

So I'm not sure what our status with NTM is.

What's with the plaque business? The ony plaque I know is the stuff I pay a fortune to have a Dentist scrape out of my oral orifice .

Oh not that sort of plaque! Silly me. No haven't got one of those yet. By time that happens I will have an epitaph:

Here Lies Bemused
Thankfully no more questions from him
Gone but not forgotten
He burned his light bright, not dim

They that have a plaque,

be not with NTM;

and they that be not with NTM,

And have no plaque,

smile brightly.

Raz, the plaque business was instituted after your time.
Trouble is, the abusers do not communicate with personnel to tell them which people NOT to send plaques to. (It's part of the cover up. The abuse never happened, so thank you for your 30 years of faithfulness.)
Have heard of some who have sent their plaques back!
And of others who think it would not be worth the cost of sending it from the field where they STILL serve---allowed to continue by God.
I would think this was made up if I didn't know it was true.
