Apparently New Zealands latest disaster has been on CNN.

A hot air balloon with 11 on board landed on powerlines accidentally. This caused a fire and two people jumped (and did not survive), thus lightening the balloon which rose quickly before exploding and crashing, killing the remaining 9.

Wonder if there is an analagy in this: Large organisation full of hot air, tries to land gently, but comes into contact with higher power, some jump ship, others hang on till the inevitable crash and burn.

P.s. have actually been ballooning, good fun, although landing is very much a hit and miss as there is little control over it, which sounds like yet another analagy

Yes, this tragedy was on the major network news.

So very sorry about the loss of life.

But the analogy you draw is very fitting ... and the humorous side of me is smiling.

The Downunder MKs have had a collection and gathered enough money to buy a hot air balloon and are organising a special flight. This flight, "Paedophile Express 001" will take off from Nevada. No fuel will be needed, plenty of religobabble hotair will be on tap as always. Just come along to Area 52 and check in. Take off will be when a big Southerly hits and course will be South. Destination, not sure, depends on the wind, but if you land in Downunder our lovely officers in blue will have complimentary matching linked bracelets and arranged accomodation. If by chance the flight overshoots, Antarctica is just a bit further south.
