Are you a woman? You should not be distracted with such triviality as being treated like a regular human being. Thinking that you have your own identity could cause the distructive habit of forward thinking among the minions.

timely 9:22 post as I was sitting here thinking that one of the primary roots of all of this abuse was (and is) TOO MUCH POWER. too many people with too much power over things they had no business having any power over. power and corresponding fear. dictatorship at its finest.

there is, apparently, still too much fear in NTO today. inference: the "leadership" retains too much power today.

NTO, limit the power and let the people go free.

i reiterate what i said long ago in another post...let's stop gambling with our children, while smoking lies and getting drunk on the lord's work.

We were told by nurses to take the diaper off of our baby girl and just lay it over her because her diaper burn was SO bad. We did it and were repromanded because we were going to be raising a nudist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was 2 months old!!!! terrible staff

Man, I can't dance either. I had to sit up in the bleachers during 7th grade PE because they were teaching square dancing. I sat up there alone and the only one not allowed to "dance"

The more I see NTO hiding silently behind a shifting smokescreen of inactivity, the more I wonder how many of the tribers were abused as kids. In other words, do they see it as normal because it happened to them?

@OT, good point you made above. I believe second generation MKs had a hard time figuring out right from wrong and not knowing where to turn for advice or help.

Perhaps the true version would read something like this: "As of 4/22/2011, more than 3,000 NTO missionaries are living. Out of these 3,000, approximately 1,000 are in the United States full time as support personnel, "representatives", member care personal, training staff, semi-retired but still on the dole, executive leadership, etc.

Another 500 are in the United States temporarily at any given time for marriage counseling, periodic 1 year vacations, medical reasons, family emergencies, etc.

Approximately 2,000 work full-time overseas except when they are not overseas. Out of these 2,000, 1,200 do not and never will work in a tribe. They work as counselors, teachers, dorm parents, buyers, mechanics, builders, electricians, computer programers, pilots, maintenance personnel, mail sorters, administrative staff, field dictatorship, accountants, government representatives, nurses, doctors, plumbers, etc. Because most of these missionaries are so overworked supporting the support workers, they will typically employ at least one or two full time natives as "maids" or hired servants to take care of things such as child care, dish washing, floor sweeping, cooking, bathroom cleaning, swimming pool chemical balancing, and bed making.

Out of the remaining 800 "tribal" missionaries, approximately 400 will quit without ever learning a tribal language to any proficient degree or without ever having presented the gospel to a single tribal person. 100 will quit shortly after learning the tribal language but before a church is established, and approximately 300 will actually do the work that NTM represents it is involved with.

Sorry, I'm just making up numbers here...something I learned while an MK with NTM. I also learned that Americans are rich and lazy...so let's continue to support the missionary life-style with our untold wealth and let us forfeit our vacation time to the missionaries. We need to support mediocrity, ineffectiveness, incompetence, child abuse, pride, fraud, and an entire infrastructure of "big government". Let's continue to facilitate the fraud at all costs, even unto the ends of the earth.
