Is it okay if we comment?

Thank you so much for checking in and updating us, dreamwords. I understand when you say how draining it was for you to come forward and tell your story in such detail. You remain one of the great heroes in the struggle to shine the light of truth on abuse - and abuse response - in NTM. Gary Earl continues to be named, as the history of this struggle is recounted and explained.

It is good that you have described how NTM's failed response has impacted you. The way Gary Earl has gotten away with concealing his vile sin of sexual abuse of a silenced victim (there, I said it clearly) is inexcusable. NTM allowed him to evade the consequences of what he did. God knows. Yes, he does. Because NTM helped to hide this crime, Gary was emboldened to smear your name and accuse you of lying. We believe you. We do not believe Gary Earl. I blame NTM (now Ethnos360) for the fact that Gary has been able to deflect blame for what he KNOWS he did, and instead, make up a story about you. This is despicable. And again, God knows. And so do we.

The choice NTM has made regarding how to respond to the widespread child abuse that occurred in mission environments has been driven by self-protection and self-deception. They have convinced themselves that their actions are justified because the survival of "The Work" takes precedence over truth and justice. Choosing to focus on the souls in distant unreached people groups, they continue to trample on the souls of their own children that are right under their feet. This has happened over and over again. In the Gary Earl case, and in many other cases. This has allowed abusive missionaries or ex-missionaries to roam freely among people who are unaware of the sins of their past. The concern that they might be continuing to hurt innocent children seems not to trouble NTM in the least.

You are not the only one who has decided it is best to wipe your hands of the past and move on with your life. We have run up against highly-paid professionals who have put all their skills to work to protect the mission and impede all our efforts to shine the light of truth. Eventually most of us have admitted defeat and surrendered to reality. The reality that NTM is going to get away with all this.

But God does know. Oh yes, He does. And He will be the ultimate judge.

Yes, we believe you, Dreamwords, and are blown away by your courage.
Your family AND the Earls were at the training center when we were there.
Also families of abused Senegal mks.
Who would have known?
It all could have been stopped with swift and comprehensive action in Bolivia YEARS before this.
But it continued in Bolivia after we arrived. And in many other places.
God knows and ntm people who will not take action will pay consequences.
We would much prefer justice here on earth.
Especially so that victims could have some closure.
ntm/ethnos360 will not allow that. It's so terrible and sad.

They were gracious, hard working people who loved people!

Yes, Ethnos / NTM should have taken care of abuse to they would not allow it to continue. A hard stance would have protected so many of us.

My parents just celebrated their 50th! They were in NTM since years before I was born. Now that I think of it, they'll reach their 50th year in NTM within a couple of years (though as retired status now). They LOVE people. I wish they lived near me, but my mom was an MK, too, so our family is very scattered, and "home" is many places.
