TRUTH!!!!

It frustrates me so, so very much when there seems to be a gross lack of understanding of this fact.

When NTM goes silent about a child abuser, they are in essence condemning other victims of that person to spend the rest of their lives in secrecy and silence. Why do they not know they are doing this? Or is it that they don't care?

New Tribes Mission, are you more concerned about the reputation of your crumbling mission than you are about helping victims of child abuse? How can you think you have "the mind of Christ" if this is the choice you have made??

When you realized that Scott Kennell had been making and distributing child pornography, and was arrested in an airport on his way to work at a children's camp in the US, did you think about the probability that multiple victims might be strewn in his wake over the years ... in the mission training, in areas where he'd worked, in homes and churches he'd been in during furloughs?

Where was the effort to get this shocking information publicized? No, of course his parents and other relatives in the mission didn't want this scandal revealed. But you should have been more concerned about anyone who had been harmed by this man than you were about them!

My feelings about this are VERY strong, and based on our own personal experience. Our daughters never hinted to us that they had been abused by our co-worker and close friend. It was only when we were told by our field leaders that he had reluctantly admitted to molesting one child, that we spoke with our own children, and the truth started coming out ... in our home, and in the homes of many other missionary families.

WE ONLY FOUND OUT BECAUSE WE ASKED.

AND WE ONLY ASKED, BECAUSE WE KNEW.

When NTM was asked at high level what had been done for Scott Kennels victims, the answer was nothing.

ICE stated they were helping victims.

Conclusion to even a simple mind is that NTM still does not care for their victims, that is someone else's job.
