This is interesting. Young Bemused remembers visiting gods from the executive committee speaking in chapel sessions at Numonohi about the amount of real estate that NTM had acquired in the States. Of course "God" always provided it, but it was the way that we were told that God provided made me curious. There never seemed to be a wad of cash that appeared divinely, it was more that NTM always seemed to profit from other peoples misfortune and sort of "inherit" real estate at bargain basement prices and it struck me as cheap and tacky. Then there were long stories of multitudes of tradesmen who gave their time for free to fix up the places. I always wondered if there was ever a straight deal. And this attitude flowed over to the locals, many a time I remember the locals being beaten down on prices that they could ill afford to be so, yet as the rich guests in a poor culture we could afford to have been more generous. I remember my father expressing his discomfort with this and on this matter he was a good man.
As for Sanford, it's become a Monument to Evil, with endless Rugs of Righteousness covering the Filth of Decades in the Corridors of Power.
Can anyone just roll up and visit, or does one need security clearance? Just if I'm ever in Florida, thought I might call in and have a chat with Larry, suspect he's been offering prayers about me and thought he might like to meet me in the flesh.
