It took some pretty bad experiences for me to figure it out...we had to go through some tough times to see that we needed to leave. We had two pretty bad experiences, although we didn't realize how bad the first was until later. For some, though, that point may never come.
I was remembering today that when we wrote member care in Sanford to ask (and protest) about the letter/negative evaluation in our file that had been used to evaluate us in meetings on another field without our knowledge, the response we got was that they had 'seen worse' evaluations and that we should probably just eat humble pie and accept that what leadership had to say. Humble pie was mentioned a second time in a subsequent letter from the same guy in member care. I think it was at that point that I realized that we were never going to get anywhere...and boy was my husband MAD! We kind of laugh about it now, but at the time, it was pretty devastating to get such a cavalier response to that kind of abuse by leadership.
