Some NTM readers will be highly insulted that we are making any connection between the type of abuse that article references and the type of abuse that controlled our thoughts, decisions and actions in NTM. But I personally can see the application.

I anticipate a great deal of squirming on the part of those still loyal to NTM, whether present members, past members, or supporters.

Ignorance may have been our excuse at one time. It is now getting less and less convenient to plead ignorance as an excuse.

In Judges if an Isreali married a foreign woman their male offspring could not join the nation of Isreal for ten generations. That is a lot of generations affected by the acts of the fathers.

Question:

NTM has broken up into autonomous groups, i.e. the Australian's are now known as CrossView Australia. They are now independent and from what I understand moving away from Sanford in their philosophy.

So when a student graduates from CrossView and goes to a field, where do they go? If they went to say PNG, would they then amalgamate with missionaries from other countries?

It just seems a bit odd to say one is independent, if in the end nothing has changed and one ends up where one would have if there was no independence at all.

Just curious and I don't think I'm going to get much enlightenment down here, therefore I ask my learned friends of Fanda Eagles .

They, and many other mission organizations, have operated in this way for quite a long time. For example, WBT/SIL operates as Wycliffe Bible Translators in "sending" countries, but as Summer Institute of Linguistics in "mission" countries. In some places, like Brasil, there are both in the same country.

NTM seems to have taken this to the extreme, where fields are "independent" and missionaries are not employees. On the other hand, the leadership attempts to micro-manage every aspect of their lives.
