Some of you care more about protecting the reputation of your adult missionary, living or dead, and the image of your mission, than you do about binding up the wounds of his victims, who lie bleeding by the roadside.

How many Current and ex NTMers actually know about the extent of historical childabuse?

What was the motive of some of NTMers missionaries for actually going to the field? Given that some who were on bases like Numonohi actively preached a message that "black people have parts of their brains missing" and at all costs avoided having anything to do with the local populations.

How do we explain that of the 29 Australasians I wrote to, to inform them of IHART (with undeniable proof), I received only 1 reply. Does that mean that only 3.4% of current Australasian missionaries don't care, or is there a more sinister reason, like they were told not to reply (and if so by who)?

Has there been any effort by NTM to contact every ex missionary and/or MK, to inform them of IHART, an organisation that they set up?

How many NTMers will sit in church tomorrow and give thanks for "God's work", yet not even pray for MKs worldwide affected by this scandal?

There we go, there's the questions, I'll go away for a while, but "I'll be back".

Bemused, the answers to most of your questions are either obvious or outside of my scope of knowledge.

But I will hazard a guess regarding your first question:

"How many current and ex NTMers actually know about the extent of historical child abuse?"

Due to the covering up of abuse, protection of abusers, and lack of information sharing (and dare I say lack of interest/concern?), I think the number of people who have a full comprehension of the extent of historical child abuse in NTM probably totals no more than a handful. Possibly not more than one. Maybe not even one.

By "extent", I mean actual names of perpetrators, full information on what the abuse was, and names of victims (to be kept confidential, of course). I acknowledge that there is no question that some abuse went on that has never been uncovered by anyone, and that some MK victims have never spoken of their secrets to any NTM leadership. But what I am referring to is known abuse. Abuse that was reported. Abuse that was known by particular field committee members, certain Executive Committee members. Various people down through the decades have known pieces. But who knows the full picture?

I am sure that I myself only know a small portion of what has been done to some MKs. But I daresay that my limited (but rather detailed) knowledge is more than possibly any one person in NTM knows.

What I know has haunted my nightmares. Anyone who knows even a portion of the iniquities inflicted on helpless children and doesn't care, should be questioning the sincerity of their faith in The One who said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them."

This link and article was posted today on GRACE's Facebook page. It is long, but well worth taking the time to read. I found MANY applications to things I've learned here on Fanda Eagles and in my own family.
