To answer your questions from my rusty memory. In the late 70s and 80's, Numonohi had 4 large dorms and a small one. Each dorm had 6 rooms for children and the small dorm had 4. Usually each room housed one family at conference (depending on size of family and how many families came to conference e.t.c.).
The procedure was that some time before each annual conference, the base families met and divided up all those coming to conference between them. Good friends stayed with their good base friends, then others were allocated to remaining families, the dorms and the guest houses. The misfits, the strange and the bizzare stayed with our family, where they fitted in quite well and moved out as soon as they could
.
I was a base kid, so I didn't go "home" on the long vacation breaks. Therefore I got to know my fellow base kids rather well, including Jim Given and his family. And yes, his behaviour was odd to say the least and this is what I reported to my father, who along with others, did nothing about it. Just because all the dorm kids went home, did not mean that the likes of Jim Given had a break from their paedophile ways, they just had a different selection of kids to choose from and less witnesses to worry about (there were a lot of empty rooms during the breaks).
