I´m kind of glad A. Velda has gone farther in and further up - I kind of had a fondness for her - she took her study hall duty so seriously - and yet a couple of the boys could tease her so much - and deep down she kind of liked that.

This is proof that we´re not whining about being disciplined and receiving just consequences for wrong actions - A. Velda was about as strict as you could get - she was my grandma x2 - that says a LOT. But I don´t remember anyone hating A. Velda. I don´t know how she did it, maybe it was an automatic respect for her age, but I remember quite a few of the little dormers liked her. Of course, I may be wrong, but it seemed that´s the way it was.

OT-

I spoke to someone last night who contacted me to get "my take" on this whole "Fanda thing." After talking a while, he mentioned his dad works at Sanford now, after many years in Brazil, and he was told that "the Mission is getting MANY reports, as you can imagine, and they are trying to deal with the most current ones first- the ones that involve perpetrators that may still be on the loose."

Apparently, the "team" that was set up to deal with this is severely understaffed.

That could explain why you haven't heard anything from NTM HQ.

Can the Child Protect Act of 2003 be used?

My vote: Version 1 but include the information on Goulart in the letter, as well. Any reference to Josey Wales to a Brazilian official is likely to fall on deaf ears.
