Yes you are quite right. PNG's infrastructure is relatively primitive as is the justice system. Many areas, such as the highlands (where the boarding school is) were not even explored until after the second world war, so development came very late in global terms. If I remember correctly Numonohi, the boarding school, would of been about 10 miles from the nearest town, Goroka, and the roads were not that good. One could go for weeks at a time without venturing off the base, as the supply person and a few others brought in the supplies and mail.

While remoteness may be a factor in some way, Brazil would be completely opposite in actual fact. Vianopolis, where several instances of abuse have been reported, is a small town with good transportation and not far from two much larger cities. On the other hand, the other NTM school in Brazil, Puraquequara, is in a very remote location (on the banks of the Amazon River about 30 miles from Manaus, with access only by boat or floatplane) and there have been, to date, no reports of abuse there.

Has nothing to do with remoteness, it was a bunch of raving mad men that "NTM" trained to go out just as they were and act just as they have.

Ummmm, now folks lets think through this logically. Sanford is in the Northern hemisphere, so the further south one goes and the further east or west, the further one gets from Sanford. PNG sits just south of the Equator. So what is further south?

New Zealand and Australia.

Oh but I hear the good folks say "Kiwis are such nice, decent, talented and wonderful people" and of course you are right. But Australia is 3 time zones west of New Zealand, and there they have "Crossview Austalia"

I rest my case.

I know of at least one MK that was from the US who was abused by JG and I'm believe that I may know more but they aren't confirmed as of yet.
