Three Willows, the "four years" reference comes from the Orlando Sentinel article which is about the second lawsuit recently filed. In the article, they also write about the Jane Doe 7 lawsuit, which NTM is petitioning to be thrown out. According to the article, the two reasons NTM feels they shouldn't be held accountable for Les Emory's rampage at Aritao are: it happened too long ago, and the mission shouldn't be held liable for criminal acts one of their members has committed.
Here is a quote from the article:
"She (Jane Doe 7) alleges she was raped repeatedly from age 8. She has asked for at least $5 million in damages.
The church (NTM) will argue at a hearing Aug. 31 that her suit should be dismissed. The abuse took place more than four years ago, meaning the woman waited too long to file suit, the missionary group alleges.
It also says the organization shouldn't be held liable for the acts of an employee."

Given the condition of our fallen world today, I fear it is inevitable that one day another case of child abuse in NTM will be discovered. If it is more recent and has occurred within the past four years, NTM will then be tested as to their response, which I hope and pray will be far different than the way they have responded to the multiple cases of child abuse in Senegal, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. Apparently, in their opinion, all those cases happened too long ago, so it's the victims' fault for not speaking up sooner.
Grrrrrrr ......
