I know it is hard for victims to trust other people sometimes, but look at the choices we have. And look at who is getting the results!!!!!

NTM is not frightened about the IHART investigation, they already know how they are going to react because it is all predetermined with nice legal language and a bit of spiritual mumbo jumbo to fool the masses.
Stuff the IHART investigation, send in ICE to really find out who was doing what to innocent little kids. Then watch NTM squirm, because they already know how powerful ICE is. 58 years powerful!!!!!!!

Anyway they probably already have NTM firmly on their radar, because it fits the profile of the perfect organisation that will be hiding paedophiles and Scott Kennell is living proof!!!!!!!!!!

I want to state categorically IHART is not controlled by NTM. We are an independent group of investigators that NTM has contracted with to conduct the investigations. As I stated up front, formal communication will be at a minimum during the investigations as there is not much that can be reported. As to my qualifications for this position – I have 10 years + experience in this field. The investigators have years of experience conducting investigations of abuse and are uniquely qualified.

It seems that what those from Vianapolis posted that the Panama group has valid points

I think there's a lot of people that want to talk about their policy and the way they want to do things and also how mks who have been abused have to respond and be grateful for. I don't hear a lot of asking the mks, so what is the point of this whole sham?

With all due respect, the letter from IHART/Pat Hendrix is old!!!!!!!!!!

If IHART is totally independent from NTM, why was this statement issued "NTM will make an apology in person, by phone or in writing to any abuse victims who are willing to permit IHART to provide their contact information to NTM."?

It should have read. "IHART wishes to advise that NTM is offering apologies, please contact them directly or go to their website, because we do not wish to have our independence compromised"

Look IHART will keep taking it's 40 pieces of silver from NTM, keep denying it is controlled by NTM's lawyers to get the least damaging result for the corporation and we will be expected to believe it because someone who can't communicate properly says they have some experience and some "uniquely qualified" investigators.

We've seen how badly NTM handled the arrest of Scott Kennell and the absolute back tracking when they "forced Gary Earl" to resign only after public exposure.

We all knew what Boz's and GRACES credentials were and we knew their excellent track record. At best IHART is a bad experiment but more likely it is a deliberate cynical farce to get exactly what NTM wants!!!!!!!!!

Wake up folks. NTM leadership does not care about MKs, it is a big business and we are causing losses. We are just a bunch of complaining predominantly women to them. They don't treat their own women right, why would they bother with us?

I think I have said enough and should probably stop at this point.

Criteria for Evaluating Investigation Teams

It is always difficult for former and current MK's and their families to know when to report abuse, and to whom the report should be directed. The first step is to report it to local law enforcement and child protection services, according to the laws in the country in which the abuse was committed, where the perpetrator and the victim(s) are now living and in the state or province in which the mission agency is incorporated.

Another step is to report the abuse to the mission agency / denomination which employs the alleged abuser and the victim. Often there are multiple victims and abusers over many years, and an Independent Investigation is required. Historically victims and their families have always needed to lobby for these Independent Investigations. Due to the desire to protect their organization and because of the costs involved, mission organizations and denominations have resisted truly independent investigations.

It is often very difficult for victims to determine who the people on the proposed Investigation Team are, and what their relationship is to the mission community they are investigating. The relationship of the investigators to mission leadership generally determines who will be interviewed during the investigation as well as who will receive interim and final reports.

The Child Safety Protection Network (CSPN) is a coalition of mission agencies that establishes what they term as Independent Investigation teams into allegations of abuse. The key benchmark CSPN uses for being “independent” is that at least one member of the investigative team be from a mission organization other than the one employing the alleged abuser(s). Thus, CSPN’s investigations are primarily conducted by mission agency/denomination personnel, which is one reason MK Safety Net cannot endorse CSPN investigations.

Victims are able to ensure the investigation into allegations of abuse is independent from mission/denomination leadership by using the following criteria. It is, of course, important that victim(s) require that this information be provided to them before agreeing to any proposed Investigation Team recommended by the mission. The Terms and Conditions the Investigation Team signs with the mission organization(s) should also include these criteria in order to ensure the cooperation of the organization(s) in providing needed information.

1. Members of the Investigation Team or Recommendation Team should not currently be missionaries or employees of a mission agency or denomination. Mission agencies should disclose both past and present relationships the recommended Investigation Team members have had with mission agencies. If they were employed as missionaries or in other capacities within the mission community in the past, it is important for survivors to know the status of their current relationship to those mission agencies.

2. The scope of the investigation should include all known vulnerable individuals to whom the alleged perpetrator had access. This includes contacting these potential victims to inform them of the investigation, and providing them with the opportunity to be a part of the investigation. Parents of potential victims should also be contacted regarding the investigation and be invited to report to the Investigation Team.

3. The original final report and recommendations of the Independent Investigations should be made available to:

Victims
People who reported abuse
Families of victims
Leadership of the mission agency / denomination
Past and present supporting churches / individuals
Leadership of the national church in the country where the abuse occurred

It is important to extend this information to local church leadership in the country where the abuse occurredbecause, in many cases, mission personnel have access to national children.

4. All information identifying the victims who reported the abuse should be removed from the report before it is distributed.

5. When criminal conduct has been determined, a report should be made to the police in the jurisdiction inwhich the perpetrator is living as well as national church leadership and police in the country in which the abuse occurred.

MK Safety Net is endorsing GRACE for independent investigations into abuse of MKs. At this point, I don't think we are aware of any other investigative agencies which are endorsed by MKSN.

In my opinion, GRACE has been unwavering in their professionalism, compassion, and thoroughness. Yes, they do advocate for the victims of abuse, not for agencies which protect abusers.

Would anyone dispute that Jesus would do the same?

For these reasons MK Safety Net is endorsing G.R.A.C.E. for investigations into abuse within our communities.

We are hopeful that other investigative organizations will also integrate these best practices for Independent Investigations in their operating and reporting procedures. This will help to ensure the protection and safety of vulnerable children and adults currently in the care of mission organizations, as well as enable survivors of abuse to be more fully supported in their healing journey.
