Perhaps we should all compile a mental list of potential Bungy Jumpers (with no strings attached), as a theraputic tool.
Well it's rather early in the morning down here and I've had a laugh already, so that's a good start.
Right I'll go and hunt out my life jacket for the "Repentance Cruise", I've volunteered to be the medical officer on the Cruise Ship. Have a nice selection of laxatives to keep things moving.

Ok sine it seems I have to spell everything out in plain terms when I inter this site I will do so once again. The comment wasn't at Raz, wasn't about the retreat, or anything to do with that. it has to do with this comment:

Andy and Tibby I appolagize to you for the abuse and bullying that you have endured here. I am so sorry for the part I had in exposing you to this bullying. I hope that you can forgive me. I personally release you from any obligation to come out here and expose yourselves to this abuse ever again.

You cetainly have prolonged some of our lives, since laughter is good for the health ! Will never forget the picture of a bungy jump with no strings attached for those who need to repent! Awesome!

Is Brian Shortmeier the head of the Child Protection Department? My understanding from NTM is that he is.

How well has he been performing his task? In an entry posted by Brian and Julie Coombs on April 2nd, 2012 in Uncategorized, we read the following:

“…New Tribes Mission’s on-going efforts at child protection have been without a central leader and were becoming more disjointed. Consequently, while some efforts at direction had been coming from a committee, more things began falling through the cracks.

“The search for the right person to chair this department has been ongoing since early 2011. This position is so important that the board decided to consider all people within NTM USA with the necessary qualifications regardless of the ministry in which they were currently involved. In February 2012, the NTM USA Executive Board approached Brian and asked him to consider filling this vital role. The expectation is that the Coombs will move to central Florida by the summer of 2012…It is hoped that Julie will continue to assist in prevention training and will work alongside her husband in this demanding ministry…they will be stepping into one of the most critical and demanding ministries that NTM has and will need continued encouragement and prayer.”

Andy, what is going on? If I am reading the above correctly, the Department of Child Protection was created in 2012, a search for "the right person to chair this department" had been ongoing since before it was formed and it was essentially functioning without a leader, even though it had a Director. Don't Directors lead?

In fact, between its inception (no date given, so let's work from 1 January 2012) and early April 2012, its function had become disjointed and MORE things had begun falling through the cracks. MORE? How in the world could MORE stuff fall through the cracks? It had just begun and it was already falling apart! What was Mr. Shortmeier doing?

Is a Chairperson different than a Director? Who has the biggest shoes in this Department, one of the most critical and demanding ministries that NTM has? Are fewer things falling through the cracks these days?

Finally, Andy, do you have any idea where the Coombs' blog post went? It didn't get shredded, did it? Tibby, you can answer, too. Or anyone.
