"For 75 years now, New Tribes Mission has been known for and involved with reaching the unreached people groups of the world. Our mission is one of the most respected church planting agencies in the world. As of May 1st, NTM USA has a new name, Ethnos360! As one friend wrote concerning this change… “To say that that the world has changed over the last 75 years is pedantic. Words change, too. The very term ‘Tribe’ has been replaced by the more missiologically correct ‘people group’. And the moniker ‘Mission’, once known as a door opener to countries in the developing world, is now a bright red flag on their visa applications”
With those things in mind, and a great many more, our Mission’s leadership made the decision to change our name, but to something that would anchor us to our foundations and point us to our vision. Ethnos, from the Greek word ethne, is translated ‘nations’ in Matthew 28:19. 360 represents the entire globe — all 360 degrees. Our vision is the world and a thriving church for every people. Or as our founders said, “until we have reached the last tribe [in other words, people group] regardless of where that tribe might be.”
Our name is the ONLY thing that’s changed. Our resolve to reach to the ends of the earth for as long as the Lord allows has not."

Thank you for this mosquito bite. It confirms something spiritually to me. I truly felt this in my soul when I first began inquiring of the Lord regarding the name change. I began by looking up the rules for entry and saw the bizarre no divorce or remarriage after salvation still remained it it's policies. I had a knee jerk reaction to say something like; same old organization judging people and not making room for forgiveness. But I stopped myself, because I truly think about what I want to say publicly. Sometimes I even wait 24hrs if it's confrontational. So I deleted my post and kept reading. That's how I found out about Fanda :'( I wrote to the globe. My best friend wrote to the CBC. Canada just finished the Truth and reconciliation process for the native children who suffered at the hands of the church. It can be done. I will close with a poem in Purple...
I see you soaring now..
With wings spread wide,
You have flown so far, and so long
That the years that required you
To smash your own beaks upon the cliffs
May indeed seem long ago.
There are so many hear below
Just now in these days to hear your cries.
We are the lions.
Righteous; bold
It is the nature of the lion to hunt

Who would deny us our lunch.
When justice is denied;
Wherever truth is hidden,
Let the true Armies of the Lord March.
Oh true pride of bold ones
Let us ask ourselves
What does a thriving church
Really look like;act like, smell like.
And should we find a rotting carcass
Strip it till it's bones.

I'm really sorry that is so dark. It's just the poetic place I'm in at the moment.

Yes, it's very strong.
I was just reading about how about every 7 years
Eagles tear out their wing feathers/talons and break their beaks.
Then wait in a safe place till they grow back.
Because these need to be replaced.
Wow!
