I am refreshing this thread of warning, just in case there are MK abuse survivors who might come here to Fanda Eagles to check about the wisdom of trusting IHART to investigate their abuse. If you are one of those people, please read this entire thread from the beginning, and be aware. |

"Our final conversation with a member of the EB and a member of the Child Protection Department clarified everything. We pushed and pushed in an effort to understand. After essentially backing them into a corner, they admitted what their actions had been showing all along but the very thing they had been vehemently denying throughout our communication: They believed what she said to be true. They believe that “Many accusations are true, but a substantial percentage are exaggerated or untrue.” (page 18) They had very specifically denied this statement to be true when we had initially approached them with our concerns about Ms. Sidebotham’s views as represented in this article. We got our answer, and it was not the answer we were hoping for. In fact, it was the very opposite." Warning!!! They do not believe you! Do not waste your time and give them your information. You will regret and they will just use it against you. |

Don't go to your mission leaders if you have been abused. They will try to convince you to forgive and stay silent. Your story is just more ammunition to throw at you and other MKs. Report your abuse to authorities. To the embassy, the police, anyone who has actual authority to help you. Missions and churches can not legally hold an abuser accountable to make them stop abusing. Sexual offenders belong in jail not a move to another location. |
