Ha, ha. It is the combination of the first two factors and being married to the last

While in Prague, we had a local guide was excellent. He knew his subjects and was very funny. Turns out he'd written a book called "Xenophobes Guide to The Czechs". Turns out it is a series of books, each pertaining to a country and it's inhabitants interesting ways.

Really enjoyed the Czech guide, so am now reading the Kiwi guide and have the Australian one to read. Have ordered the American and German ones.

I hope you brought your gas mask, because the smoke is pretty heavy, not only in the western part of the country but also in the southern state near Mickey Mouseland!

Have I sent you a pic of me in my full get up? Not that it is easy to figure out it is me, as there is little that can be see to recognise who is in the heavy protective gear and wearing the full breathing apparatus.

During our basic training we had to go into a burning building, knowing that if you panicked and took the mask off it was all over in seconds. We also had to navigate an obstacle course in the dark, with full gear on, at a temperature of 70 degrees Celsius.

Luckily in rural/bush fires, one doesn't usually wear the really heavy gear and breathing equipment, but if I'm sent to that other place, I'll wear my mask and . . .
