Yeah I must say before planning a conference, we should know details of , including prices too. The last conference which I had attended at a large meeting room in Chicago was just wonderful. I can’t explain you the facilities here which we got there.

I recently read Poisonwood Bible.
Very well written and very sad.
Insightful.
Fiction.

Then at the MKSN CONF we bought The Missionary Myth by one of the Mamou survivors.
Another sad story.
A true one.
Although hope was afforded to the author by involvement with Native Americans who are
seeking justice for their treatment in the history of our country--boarding school used to take their culture away.

Wes Stafford's book just arrived in the mail.
Someone suggested it to us at the Conf.

but again, this is a true story that Stafford writes
His own story.
Just as sad a story, but written in a different tone.
His story and what he has done about it.

Is there no end to these stories?
It would appear that there isn't from this site.
And each story is important and longing to be told.
At the right time.

What is "leadership culpability"? (January 2015, on the timeline)

Thanks for bringing this up, dreamwords. There may be others who haven't kept up with Panama investigation developments and wonder what this is about.

The absence of leadership culpability in Pii's report on Panama is discussed in the Panama section of these forums, in the thread titled "Investigation".

On March 5, I posted 5 different posts summarizing where things stood at that time.

Also very important is the subsequent release from Pii which was posted by threewillows on April 1. Pii states clearly that they were "prohibited by contract and directive to not investigate leadership culpability".

Something fishy is afoot. That's for sure.

From the inception of MK Safety Net, members of our community have been former MK's and advocates from Canada, the U.S., Sweden, the Netherlands, Great Britain, New Zealand and Australia, as well as other countries. Social media platforms have allowed us to be integrated, supportive communities and we look forward to this continuing.

This marks a big and significant change for MK Safety Net.

Founded in the late 1990s by a group of MKs who had suffered abuse at a C&MA boarding school in Mamou, Guinea, West Africa, MKSN has, for some of us, played a major role in the journey we have travelled. Some of us have attended one or both of the conferences held by MKSN in 2013 and 2015.

I don't know what the future holds, but I personally want to offer a public thank you to all the wonderful, warm-hearted people I have come to know through MKSN. They have touched my heart in indelible ways, and I am eternally grateful.

Together we travel a long and uncertain road.

It is always comforting to know we do not travel alone.
