Scott Ross .... does the name sound familiar?

Yes, you have seen his name in GRACE's report on abuse at the Fanda School.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/36559323/Amen ... ed-Edition

Scott Ross

NTM should acknowledge the work of Scott Ross in raising awareness of child abuse within NTM as well as his work in developing a child protection protocol within NTM. At the same time, Scott Ross failed to adequately investigate and respond to the Fanda abuse scandal. Several MKs expressed a lack of confidence in Scott Ross's ability to handle this matter for the future. Accordingly, GRACE recommends Scott Ross be permanently removed from any and all work and/or responsibilities relating to any form of child abuse matters within New Tribes Mission. This shall be evidenced by a written notice signed by the NTM Executive Committee. The removal notice must be delivered to Scott Ross, must be posted on the member section of the NTM website for 6 months, and must be provided to Fanda MKs.

Scott Ross was a co-founder of the Child Safety and Protection Network. At that time (2006) he was a member of New Tribes Mission.

About the Child Protection and Safety Network

In the summer of 2006, members of SIL and New Tribes agreed to co-sponsor a gathering in September to look at issues of child abuse and safety for the greater missions community.

Numerous agencies have been working in this area, in terms of current and historical abuse investigations, policy development, programs and treatment; but no one had brought different organizations together to address issues as a group.

The result of that meeting was to encourage multi-agency participation in a task force to develop, refine, and enhance policies, procedures, and resources for ensuring current and future child safety. This is the current mission statement of this task force:

As an outcome of the September 2006 Inter-Agency leadership consultation regarding issues of Child Safety and Abuse Response in missions, and in support of our common desire to provide a safe and rich experience for the children of our staff, we are resolved to collaborate together in creative new ways to:

- Develop and deliver common education and curriculum for the “network”
- Share resources between us in the “network”
- Develop common response and care protocols

Representatives from any mission agency are encouraged to participate.

And now .... ta-da! Scott Ross has formed his own company! In Pinehurst, Idaho! 50 miles from Liberty Lake, WA, where Professional Investigators International (Pii) is located! A most intriguing development!

Scott Ross comes highly recommended. (See sidebar.)

http://therossgroupintl.com/response-services/

"Scott Ross brings an unusual combination of gifting and experience to personnel and misconduct investigations in religious organizations. As an attorney with practical experience in criminal prosecution, he knows how to handle legal issues surrounding preservation of evidence, chain of custody, and so forth. As a former field missionary for 7 years and a missions organization attorney for 20 years, he has deep understanding of religious organizations. In addition, he has years of practical experience structuring and conducting investigations, leading teams, and training others. Scott's training, insight, and leadership will make The Ross Group International a valuable resource for religious organizations."
~ Theresa Sidebotham - Telios Law PLLC

Theresa Sidebotham! Ah! And where have I see that name before?! I KNEW there was a connection, even though I could not get anyone from NTM to admit, back in 2011, that they had had any influence in the writing of this TERRIBLE article by Theresa Sidebotham and Martin Nussbaum:

http://www.rothgerber.com/files/10368_A ... Market.pdf

(See particularly pages 18 and 19, which criticizes GRACE's report on Fanda. Hmm .... the same report which recommended that Scott Ross be permanently removed from any and all work and/or responsibilities relating to any form of child abuse matters within New Tribes Mission.)

Be sure to take a good look at this website for The Ross Group International quickly, because it may soon be drastically changed, just like the Pii website was, after we started scrutinizing it.

And how much will NTM be paying for this "expertise" that they assumedly used to get for free? Doesn't seem to be any mention of being with NTM, just references to a mission organisation.

Hmmmmm, very intriguing. I can't help get the feeling that those at the top of NTM know it is going to sink and are offloading the assets before it does and there is a free for all. When/if NTM sinks, it might be strangely found to be bare of assets.

[quote="Raz"]GRACE recommends ...Ross be removed...relating to any form of child abuse matters within New Tribes Mission. The removal notice must be... provided to Fanda MKs."[quote]

Did the Fanda MKs receive this?

I don't think I mentioned this before - Mr. Ross was my high school Bible teacher at Numonohi in the late '80s. He was a favorite teacher of all of ours. That's why I trusted him in 2006 with my story - I was sending it from student (me) to mentor (him), not from victim to NTM. I didn't expect it to go beyond Mr Ross.

When he passed my story off to strangers I didn't even know within NTM, and without my agreement or prior knowledge, he lost my trust.

I am so sorry Lori. This has happened to me at work over and over. I hate that we have to LEARN not to trust.

I have no respect for him.

This page of the TRGI website is of high interest to us. Emphasis added by me:

http://therossgroupintl.com/response-services/

RESPONSE SERVICES

Most attorneys and crisis managers agree that the best defense to increased injury, costs, and suits is a good response. There appears to be a new and growing trend by Plaintiff attorneys to target missions, churches, religious groups, and international aid agencies as the next deep pocket for litigation in the US and abroad. (This comes straight from the Nussbaum/Sidebotham article referenced above.)

To answer this growing concern, TRGI is dedicated to the highest level of professionalism, impartiality and confidentiality in each project undertaken. The type and quality of the multi-disciplinary team that makes up the group cannot be matched in its international exposure and understanding of the complexities of multi-national events. (That is quite a claim to make! Is this primarily because these staff members are missionaries and MKs?) All staff and investigators have been vetted and trained in up-to-date investigative techniques for internal international corporate and NGO investigations. (They took some courses and are now apparently trained and qualified.)

More specifically, our investigators have been fully trained in the Best Practice Standards and investigative practices of the Child Safety and Protection Network. (Co-founded by Scott Ross.) In addition, for child abuse investigations, investigators follow the NICHD protocols for investigative interviews for alleged sex abuse victims.

TRGI RESPONSE SERVICES: Professional, Impartial, and Confidential.

We have 100 years of mission and investigative experience among our professional team members. Our team includes Law Enforcement, Psychologists, Educators, Mission Security Specialists, Former Prosecutors, Accountants, Data Recovery Specialists, Contingency Consultants, Missionaries (multi-lingual and multi-cultural), and Mediators.

Each investigator has been certified and trained for the unique need for internal investigations for missions, churches, corporate and NGOs, as well as being fully vetted and screened. We believe that our prepared Multi-Disciplinary team will be the “good response” that protects your organization from unnecessary financial expenditures and community backlash that often come with the investigative conclusion of guilt of personnel.

If an investigation is not done correctly the first time, a wave of consequences follow, that may or may not resolve the issue at hand. Learn from the past mistakes of others, and call TRGI, and prevent as much unnecessary damage as possible.

If you have already been hit with an issue requiring an internal investigation, call TRGI to receive professional, impartial and confidential investigative services by a fully trained and vetted multi-disciplinary team with multi-lingual and multi-national experience. Or, it may be that you are not satisfied with the outcome of a recent internal investigation, and need an unbiased third-party to come in and do a professional investigation – TRGI can fill that need.

Providing an Effective Response:

Fair, Comprehensive, and Confidential Investigations
Independent Child Abuse Investigations
Corporate Misconduct & Policy Violations
Sexual Harassment
Computer, Cell Phone, and Tablet Lock-Down & Data Recovery
Internet Adult/Child Pornography Discovery
General Risk and Liability Investigations

Call The Ross Group International today, before it’s too late! You can’t go back in time; you can only prepare and take appropriate responsive actions.
