Very interesting. A quick google of the judge shows Lowell Goddard is a woman with a distinguished career.

Apparently the first two appointees were unable to take the job on and it was deemed prudent to get someone who was independent from the British system, hence a Kiwi heading the inquiry.

It looks like this will net quite a different kettle of fish than the Australian inquiry, more of a who's who me thinks.

Definitely a move in the right direction for victims.
