There has been very little activity/posting/discussion (or venting) on here for quite a long time, Kyle. I am not sure how to analyze or understand that. Most of the actual victims of MK abuse in NTM who used to post here have gone silent. Someone told me they think a lot of the MKs had all the fight beat out of them when they were little, and they just have no energy left for fighting. Even for fighting for themselves. This makes me sad too. |

Or...some have received settlements and are no longer able to post, discuss or vent because of legal binding agreements... |

Of course we were one big happy family, well that is what was portrayed. In reality it was like any other large organisation, with factions and them poor cousins who weren't quite proper family. There were the religious hardliners, the separatists, the fanatics, the good sorts and all the Uncles and Aunts. And of course not forgetting those who had wandering hands, eyes and other bits of anatomy, but that sort of got overlooked or covered up. Aye and I know what you mean about leaving the field and having nothing. I was given $300 cash, climbed on a plane and went home alone. I guess I was supposed to trust God, trouble is I was already on the road of doubt. Had very little contact with other MKs and I didn't really fit into the church scene. So I found with a bit of hard work, life turned out not to bad and as I'd done it pretty much by myself I didn't have to feel grateful to NTM e.t.c. One happy family! Yeah right, no family I know treats other members like this. But then again what would I know, I'm just a distant cousin from somewhere in the Australian outback ain't I |

Sadly I see no progress on behalf of the MKS. I have been unable to check this site for weeks. |

Yes, Kyle. Far too many MKs understand what you are describing. Far too many. |

That's an excellent question, "What is success to you as an MK I would ask?" Success is having survived, that I can think for myself. Success is having taken on those that perpetrate, cover up and excuse these despicable acts, looking them in the eye and watching them scurry for cover, because they have no answer to the truth that abusing a child is immoral and cowardly. Success is having peace inside, when there are those who try to blow their strange theologies and logic. As for the loaded 45, another good point. Every Kiwi knows full well the story of the missionary family from PNG that perished at the end of a gun and almost every Kiwi has an opinion as to who pulled the trigger, for it can only have been one of two people (Google David Bain) that being the MK son (found guilty then retried and acquitted 13 years latter) or the father in a murder/suicide. Success isn't not pulling the trigger, that's just coping. Success is having a family that supports each other through this mess and on that Bemused is a dismal failure, but my conscience is clear for I gave it my best shot and eventually one has to accept that some families are destined to disintegrate because the differences of opinion are impassable. There is no legal recourse for this MK, because of his location, however I am more than happy to provide moral or informational support to those who wish to pursue that course. Thanks again for the thought provoking question, perhaps others have answers of their own. |

This is the article from Wikipedia re the David Bain case. I think most people on this site have now heard of the case. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Bain If David did not shoot his family, then the only other person who could have is his father (which many people believe to be the case). Either scenario has implications for us, for both scenarios raise the possibility that the guilty party wanted something covered up and it doesn't take to much research to work out what that was. Now the worrying thing is, this happened in a country with few MKs and very few guns (apart from farmers and hunters), even our police are not routinely armed. I spoke to an American expert on these matters and he expressed grave concern about this, for we both agreed, if this can happen in little New Zealand, where a gun is a rare item, the chances of it happening in the U.S. are alarming. |
