Not sure that the Christmas Spirit is coming to my house this year... and I no longer wonder why. I feel sorry and sad for my children who do not get to see the happy side of this wonderful celebration of LIFE... I wish that I could find a button to push that would make this "all right" and that would make it happier. There is none. *still waiting for the kiwi brew* |

I've just contacted Santa He's loading up the sleigh The Kiwi brew is on board And will soon be on it's way And believe me there is plenty For we Kiwis love to drink We can knock it back Really really let it sink Don't mention this to our friends They think we are a strange lot And we don't want to confuse things By admitting our alcoholic fuelled rot Oh we drink to anything Especially when we beat our neighbours with the ball Or win an Oscar, loose a boat race Or anything at all Of course I don't touch the stuff I'm drier than the average Triber Due to liver trouble as a child I have never been an imbiber So you can have my portion Gin, Whiskey, Moonshine and Rum Beer, Cider, Sherry Flavoured, Kiwifruit, Apple or Plum Of course I'm not advocating drowning sorrows No need when we're all about Just tell us if you need a hand And we'll see if we can help out O.k. Santa is almost loaded I need to assist him with take off run For he's heavily loaded with Kiwi brew Destined for land of little sun |

![]() And just in case there is any nice Triber reading this and praising God that old Aussie has found God again and is sober, don't!!!!!!!! Look in the mirror and see someone who did nothing to stop this terrible waste, then ask why you never reached out, why you still don't reach out. The answer is simple, you are not a true Christian at all, just someone who is doing the job they have been told to do, who is thinking how they have been told to and who won't lift a finger because they are so blinded by their own supposed goodness. This is the season of our Saviours birth, find the gift of compassion this Christmas. Reach out with no strings attached, reach out to someone you should have helped decades ago and do it before it is to late! Put the true compassion of Christ back into your life this Christmas. |

I shall beat Raz to it and offer an "Amen" to your insightful post. Funny thing happened this week, I caused a little confusion and it was assumed that you (Aussie) are in fact my sister by one of our esteemed posters. So I had a think about it and came to the conclusion that although biologically this is not the case, it would be nice to have a sister with such passion and forthrightness. Sometimes the road we have travelled together makes us more like brothers and sisters than the biological soup we inherit from our real siblings. For oft is the case that our real siblings choose not to accompany us on the journey we find ourselves on, but to take very different paths. Paths that will quite possibly never cross again. Sometimes we catch glimpses of the path that our siblings have taken, especially at Christmas time and we wonder if they are truly happy and free on their journeys. Often we cannot see their paths, for they have been enveloped by the fogs of influences from which they have not been able to free themselves and we feel some compassion for the situations that they find themselves in. For some of us, by choice we walk a very different path from that of our families. Sometimes as a matter of necessity or sanity and sometimes to comply with a conscience that is restless. So to all my "sisters" who fly with the wings of Eagles (or a variation of the same), a toast to our "families" be they genetically similar or adopted ![]() |
