Thank you for contacting the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, on Thursday 4 April 2013.
We note that you would like to provide information relevant to the work of the Commission.
There are two ways in which you can provide information at this stage:
1. In writing:
The Commission has now published ‘Practice Guidelines’ about the fact-finding stage of the Commission’s work. These guidelines provide advice on how people can make submissions and on the type of information the Commissioners are seeking from the public. You may find ‘Practice Guideline 3’ to be especially useful as it has some guiding questions for preparing written submissions. Here is a link to the Practice Guidelines page of the Commission website:

Once you have completed your written submission it can be emailed to
statements@childabuseroyalcommission.gov.au or sent by post to GPO Box 5283, Sydney, NSW, 2001.
2. Over the phone:
You can call the Commission on 1800 099 340 (toll free unless calling from a mobile) between 8:00am and 8:00pm. Our operators will take down preliminary details about the events you wish to tell the Commission about as well as your contact details so that we can contact you again.
The Commission is conscious that, for many people, coming forward and providing information is very difficult. If you call us on the number above, our operators are backed up by experienced counsellors who can help you if you need some support to deal with your emotions or feelings. There are also a range of national and state-based organisations that provide counselling and other assistance to victims of abuse. Some of these are listed on our website at:

Yours sincerely,
