Post subject:  Mental/Emotional Health Issues Related to Childhood Trauma

How often do survivors of childhood abuse and trauma suffer from mental and emotional health issues as adults? And related physical health issues as well?

This extends the deep pain far beyond childhood, and affects every aspect of an adult's life: their relationships, their financial stability, their faith ....

A never-ending chain of struggle, tempting one to give up and stop fighting for survival.

Nothing wrong with me
Two, three, four
Won't catch me
Knocking on my Shrinks door

Apart for the paranoia
Six, Six, Six
And them beetles out of thin air
I picks, picks, picks

Of course I'm just a little deluded
Zero, Zero, Seven
I'm really an international spy
And a saint sent from heaven

Then there is the bike
One, two, one
Which I ride around the place
With my dog just for fun

And my family are all normal
Three, two, one
Except for those who went to the tropics
And absorbed to much sun

So now I write poetry
Two, four, two
To keep me sane
But that you already knew ;)

I have no idea what you got up to before the poetry came along, cuz I wasn't here

Although I have heard rumours, but then I've been hearing voice in my head for years, so I didn't take any notice.

But seriously. You raise an excellent thread, well worth due consideration.

I wouldn't say that I have suffered from any serious mental abberation, but I certainly wouldn't classify myself as being main stream (oh you thought all Kiwis were like this, no, no, most are nice people), more someone who has become somewhat eccentric in order to cope with his past and the ramifications of it.

"I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with loving-kindness.
I will build you up again
and you will be rebuilt, O Virgin Israel.
Again you will take up your tambourines
AND GO OUT TO DANCE WITH THE JOYFUL." Jer 31:3-4

It's you guys!!!!

There must have been alot of rain in Panama. :D

Wow I love it!!! Thanks so much for sharing. Does anyone know I paint??? Yeah I do have a life outside of constant tragedy and traumas. I paint signs or art size designs from wood that I reclaim either from discarded, retired or torn down barns fences etc and collect washed up sailboat wood and any other boat wooden object that washes up and design driftwood items to bring the outdoors into the home.

Mosquito Bite that one is worthy of me getting into my stock and finding the perfect piece of wood to reclaim into a piece of art with this Verse on it. So I will forever have it hanging near me and NEVER forget or lose Ms New Zealand Girl :)
