Does anyone ever wonder what happened to friends we knew in training? When we all went our separate ways or to the countries our parents chose, were assigned to or delivered to? I had a great group of friends I have always missed from Language School in Missouri. Wonder if any of them are here. And am now worried if they were abused also. I was in both training camps twice (my parents kept having to go back....brainwashing didn't take on my Mom the first time around!!) I was in Missouri in early 80s...probably 80 and 81 then time in D&D (whatever that is) then Virginia to raise more money and then delivered to Panama. I was a tomboy so I hung out with the boys a lot.....loved Capture the Flag, stickball and playing by the Lake. I got in trouble a lot for hanging out with boys. I remember a few were headed to PNG, some to the Phillipines and some to Brazil. So I can only imagine they must be victims too which breaks my heart. I was in 4th grade in Missouri and my friends were in 5th grade. |

Love it!! Thanks for sharing the good too! Camdenton was my favorite....sunburns from being on the black tubes on Lake all day. Making my dad take me all the way out on the Lake only to have him take me right back because fishing bored me ( I just wanted time with him and I think he knew that anyway) Capture the Flag. Kickball, stickball (breaking a window and having the boys take the blame so I didn't get in trouble) so many kid activities....always laughing and seeing happy families. The pickle ponds!! The ghost stories at night in the woods with the cool dads. And so much more. That property was beautiful.... |
