I spent quite a bit of time as a teenager talking to one of the dorm parents, who kindly listened to my adolescent woes and wonderings. The door was always open and I looked forward to meeting Carol when I returned to PNG to visit my parents about 4 years after I left. Alas it never eventuatated, as she died in an accident just before I arrived back. I shall always remember her with fondness.

Bemused, you just reminded me of something....yes....Carol Smith had such a beautiful heart....I only passed through the dorm but I always wished she was my dorm mum. Also Lydia Tanner...who was organized to tutor me in a subject before my parents pulled me out of Numonohi.

Lydia, in your young years you could have taken on any of the teachers positions at Numonohi and done a better job. I wonder what your profession is today? Your depth of character and beauty of spirit far exceeded the norm at Numonhi.

Towards the end of my time as an MK, I flew out to stay with a young missionary couple in the middle of Sepik river system. It was an adventure/holiday. I thoroughly enjoyed the time and when I returned as an adult, I got to repeat the experience. It's been 30 years since I've seen George and Harriet, but have just managed to find them thanks to the wonderful world of the internet. Hopefully by now they have recovered from my visits and not in to much of a state of shock to hear from me again .

They are GREAT!
